CHANGING COLOUR:
For the neatest transition when changing colours, work the last slip stitch on the round with the new colour as follows: Insert the hook in the first stitch at the beginning of the round, make 1 yarn over with the new colour and pull the yarn through the loops on the hook.

START THE PIECE HERE:

-------------------------------------------------------

CHRISTMAS BALL – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The balls are worked in different colour-combinations. The balls are worked from the middle outwards, in 2 halves. The halves are then sewn together and filled with wadding. A loop is worked to finish.

HALF-BALL:
Read COLOUR-1 to COLOUR-6 in the explanations.
Use crochet hook size 3.5 mm and the chosen cast-on colour DROPS Muskat.
Work 4 chain stitches – read CHAIN STITCH, and form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch.
Work in the round, according to your chosen colour-combination - read CHANGING COLOUR, and according to diagram A.1. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When A.1 has been completed, cut and fasten the strands.
Work another half-ball in the same way, but when A.1 has been completed leave a strand end of 40 cm, to be used when sewing the 2 halves together.

ASSEMBLY:
Place the 2 halves together – make sure the beginning of the round matches on each half. Start the seam at the beginning of the round and sew 1 stitch in the back loop of each stitch around the ball – make sure the seam is not tight. Leave a small opening and fill the ball with wadding, then sew the opening together.

LOOP:
Hold the ball so the beginning of the round is underneath.
Work 1 slip stitch at the top, using the same colour as the last round, work 20 chain stitches and then fasten them with 1 slip stitch back at the top of the ball. Cut and fasten the strand.
