BLANKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked back and forth with circular needle.
BLANKET:
Cast on 97-125 stitches with circular needle size 5 mm and 1 strand Baby Merino and 1 strand Kid-Silk (= 2 strands). Purl 1 row from the wrong side.
Then work rib as follows: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – read description above, * knit 1, purl 1 *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left, knit 1 and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch.
Continue this rib back and forth for approx. 4 cm – adjust so the next row is from the right side.
The next row is worked as follows:
Work the first 11 stitches as before, knit 2 together (= 1 stitch decreased), work stocking stitch until there are 11 stitches left and work the last 11 stitches as before = 96-124 stitches.
The next row is worked as follows from the wrong side:
Work the first 11 stitches as before, purl until there are 11 stitches left and work the last 11 stitches as before.
Now work pattern as follows:
A.1 over the first 11 stitches (the pattern should fit with knit over knit and purl over purl), A.2 over the next 70-98 stitches (= 10-14 repeats of 7 stitches), work the first 4 stitches in A.2, so the pattern matches on both sides of the blanket, and finish with A.3 over the last 11 stitches.
Continue back and forth like this. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When the piece measures 48-76 cm – adjust so the next row is from the right side, work as follows:
Work A.1, knit 74-102 and increase 1 stitch, work A.3 = 97-125 stitches.
The next row is worked as follows from the wrong side:
Work the first 11 stitches as before, purl until there are 11 stitches left and work the last 11 stitches as before.
Now work rib as follows:
1 edge stitch in garter stitch, * knit 1, purl 1 *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left, knit 1 and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 4 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl.
The blanket measures approx. 52-80 cm from the cast-on edge.
