100-100-100 g colour 100, off white

KNITTING TENSION:
26 stitches in width and 34 rows vertically in stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

NEEDLES:
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 2.5 mm for stocking stitch
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 2 mm for rib
Needle size is only a suggestion! If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to a larger needle size. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to a smaller needle size.

EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN:

PATTERN:
Diagram A.1. Work the entire diagram in stocking stitch.

HEEL DECREASE:
ROW 1 (= right side): Knit until 7-8-8 stitches remain, slip next stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece.
ROW 2 (= wrong side): Purl until 7-8-8 stitches remain, slip next stitch as purlwise, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch purled, turn piece.
ROW 3 (= right side): Knit until 6-7-7 stitches remain, slip next stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece.
ROW 4 (= wrong side): Purl until 6-7-7 stitches remain, slip next stitch purlwise, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch purled, turn piece.
Continue decrease like this with 1 stitch less before each decrease until there are 14-14-16 stitches on needle.

SOCKS - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles, top down.

LEG:
Cast on 180-198-216 stitches with 2 strands Fabel on double pointed needles 2.5 mm. Remove one strand, continue to work with 1 strand.
Work next round as follows: * Pass 1 stitch on to right needle without working it, knit 1 and pass slipped stitch over stitch worked *, work from *-* the entire round = 90-99-108 stitches.
Work diagram A.1 (= 10-11-12 repetitions). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When the diagram has been worked, there are 60-66-72 stitches on round. Insert a marker in the piece to measure from later.
Switch to double pointed needles size 2 mm, and work rib in the round = knit 1/purl 2 until piece measures 4-5-6 cm from marker.
Switch to double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and work 1 round in stocking stitch and decreasing 6-8-10 stitches evenly = 54-58-62 stitches. Then work in stocking stitch until piece measures 5-6-7 cm from marker.

HEEL:
Now keep the first 26-28-30 stitches on needles for heel, and slip the last 28-30-32 stitches on 1 stitch holder (= mid on top of foot). Work in stocking stitch back and forth over heel stitches for 5-5½-6 cm. Insert 1 marker in the piece to measure length of sock.
Now work HEEL DECREASE - see explanation above. After heel decrease, pick up 13-14-16 stitches on each side of heel, and slip the 28-30-32 stitches from stitch holder back on needles = 68-72-80 stitches. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 28-30-32 stitches on top of foot.
Continue with stocking stitch in the round, AT THE SAME TIME decrease in each side as follows: Knit the last 2 stitches before first marker on top of foot twisted together, and knit the first 2 stitches after last marker on top of foot together.
Repeat decrease every other round a total of 8-8-10 times = 52-56-60 stitches.
Work until piece measures 18-19-21 cm from marker on heel (= approx. 4-5-6 cm remain until finished measurements). Insert 1 marker in each side so that there are 26-28-30 stitches both on top of foot and under foot.

FOOT:
Continue working stocking stitch while AT THE SAME TIME decreasing for toes on each side of both markers as follows:
Before marker: Knit 2 together. After marker: Knit 2 twisted together.
Repeat decrease in each side on every other round a total of 4-7-9 times, and then on every round a total of 6-3-2 times = 12-16-16 stitches remain on needle.
On next round knit all stitches together 2 by 2 = 6-8-8 stitches.
Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten together and fasten. Knit another sock the same way.
