CROCHET TENSION:
18 treble crochets in width and 10.5 rows vertically = 10 x 10 cm.
CROCHET HOOK:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 3.5 mm
Hook size is only a suggestion! If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger hook. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller hook.

5 TREBLE CROCHETS WORKED TOGETHER:
Work 1 treble crochet in next stitch but wait with last yarn over and through pull, work 1 treble crochet the same way in each of the next 4 stitches (= 6 loops on hook). Make 1 yarn over on hook, and pull through all loops on hook.

COASTER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round, starting from the middle of the heart. Start at the arrow showing the direction to cast on. Start with a row of chain stitches = thick, black line in middle of diagram. At the end of the line there is a triangle; first round starts here (= oval symbol).
ROUND 1 (also shown in diagram) is worked as described below.
COASTER:
Work 19 chain stitches on hook size 3.5 mm with Paris (= cast-on). Make sure not to work first and last chain stitch to loosely to avoid holes later in piece. If there are still holes in the piece, sew these holes together as follows: Baste a yarn through the bottom of treble crochets, tighten yarn and fasten.

REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION!
ROUND 1: Work 3 chain stitches, turn and work 6 treble crochets in 4th chain stitch from hook.
Work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 6 chain stitches. In the next 5 chain stitches work treble crochets that are worked together - read 5 TREBLE CROCHETS WORKED TOGETHER in explanation above. Then work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 6 chain stitches, work 7 treble crochets in last chain stitch from cast-on.Continue to work on the other side of chain stitch row as follows: Work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 8 chain stitches, work 5 treble crochet in the next chain stitch, 1 treble crochet in each of the next 8 chain stitches and finish with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round, 1st round is now done.
Continue in the round according to diagram A.1 until diagram has been work.
Cut and fasten the yarn.
