GARTER ST (worked in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds. * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*.
PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2.
DECREASE TIP:
Dec as follows: Beg 3 sts before st with marker: K 2 tog, K 2 (marker is between these sts), slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso.
KNITTING TIP:
If knitting gauge is incorrect in height and the knitting is too tight, the raglan dec will be too short and the armholes too small. This can be adjusted by working 1 extra round without dec evenly spaced between dec.

TOP:
Worked in the round. Cast on 146-162-174-190-210-230 sts on circular needle size 5 mm / US 8. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Then work as follows from the side: 21-25-28-32-30-35 sts in stockinette st, * P 2, A.1 ( = 5 sts) *, repeat from *-* 1-1-1-1-2-2 times in total, P 2, A.2 (= 13 sts), P 2, *A.1, P 2,* repeat from *-* 1-1-1-1-2-2 times in total, 42-50-56-64-60-70 sts in stockinette st, * P 2, A.1*, repeat from *-* 1-1-1-1-2-2 times in total, P 2, A.2 (= 13 sts), P 2, *A.1, P 2,* repeat from *-* 1-1-1-1-2-2 times in total, 21-25-28-32-30-35 sts in stockinette st. Insert 2 markers in the piece; 1 at the beg of round and one after 73-81-87-95-105-115 sts. Continue pattern like this. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE When piece measures 5 cm / 2", dec 1 st on each side of markers, repeat dec every 3 cm / 1" 4 more times - READ DECREASE TIP = 126-142-154-170-190-210 sts. When piece measures 21 cm / 8¼", inc 1 st on each side of markers, repeat inc every 6-6-7-7-8-8 cm / 2⅜"-2⅜"-2¾"-2¾"-3"-3" 2 more times = 138-154-166-182-202-222 sts. When piece measures 36-37-38-39-40-41 cm / 14¼"-14½"-15"-14¼"-15¾"-16 ⅛", bind off 6 sts in each side (= 3 sts on each side of marker in each side), work the remaining sts as before = 126-142-154-170-190-210 sts.
SLEEVE EDGE:
Cast on 52-56-60-62-66-70 sts on double pointed needles size 5 mm / US 8 with Paris. Work 2 ridges, then work in stockinette st until piece measures 3 cm / 1". Now bind off 6 sts mid under sleeve = 46-50-54-56-60-64 sts. Make another sleeve edge the same way.
YOKE:
Slip sleeves on to same circular needle as body where armholes were bound off (without working them first) = 218-242-262-282-310-338 sts. Insert 1 marker in every transition between sleeves and body = 4 markers. Continue in stockinette st and with pattern as before while at the same time on next round dec for raglan in each of the 4 transitions between body and sleeves (i.e. 8 dec per dec-round) - READ DECREASE TIP AND KNITTING TIP! Dec every other round 16-16-16-17-18-18 times, then every round 0-2-4-4-5-7 times. After all dec, 90-98-102-114-126-138 sts remain on needle. Work 2 ridges while AT THE SAME TIME on 1st round dec 6-11-12-22-31-40 sts evenly = 84-87-90-92-95-98 sts. Bind off.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew the openings under the sleeves.
