Dear Lena, in this chart, you can check the total width on back piece (not around the bust), ie from armhole to armhole, back piece will measure 37-41-41-45 cm. Compare to a similar garment you have and like the shape to make sure you choose the correct size. Happy crocheting!

Dear Emma, you first work the 32 repeats of A.6 (as under RIGHT SIDE, ARMHOLE AND FRONT PIECE:, then work next row from RS, repeat these 2 rows in size L (4 rows), then work the armhole (starting from WS) as explained under All sizes: below. Happy crocheting!

Dear Emma, before you cut the yarn at the end of previous row, the last row you worked was a row from wrong side. When you work the right side of piece, you will begin with a row from wrong side too, this means there will be 2 rows from wrong side worked next to each other. Happy crocheting!

Dear Mrs Workman, place the first part of piece/back piece from wrong side and crochet now A.1 over the first 6 stitches, repeat then A.6 a total of 31-31-36-36 times in width, now work A.6 one more time but over the first 3 stitches only (just make the 5 chain stitches but not the double crochet) and end with A.1 at the end of the row (as before). Continue like this, to create the armhole, you will then crochet chain stitches and skip some repeats of A.6 and then continue as before. Then work A.7 then A.8 between both A.1 on each side. Happy crocheting!

Can you please explain it to me in a different way than what is written/ just reword it? You can use terms like A.9, I just need an explanation that paints a better picture in my mind

Dear Rachel, the mid under sleeve is, as you said, the bottom of the armhole. The first row is worked as follows: work A.9 (= 1 chain stitch), work 9-10-10-11 repeats of A.6 (= 5 chain stitches, 1 double/single crochet). You should reach the top of the shoulder at this point. Now work 9-10-10-11 repeats of A.6 as before on the other side of the armhole. After this, you will work in the round over these stitches. Happy crocheting!

Dear Rebecca, did you notice that you should skip some chain stitches when working the 1st row in the diagrams? See 4th symbol - this means A.2 is for example 20 sts on first row (20 treble crochets, UK-English) but is wworked over 24 chain stitches - same for all other diagrams, you will have less treble crochets on first row than you worked chain stitches to avoid foundation chain being too tight. Dear Tobey, on the first round on sleeve you first start with A.9, then work the diagram A.6 (= 5 chain stitches, skip 3 double crochets, 1 single crochet in next double crochet), work from (to) a total of 9-10-10-11 times along one side of body, then repeat from (to) 9-10-10-11 times along the other side of armhole = there will be 18-20-20-22 chain-spaces/single crochets in total on the round. Dear Mrs Setters, since the foundation chain is most often too tight, you will here cast on more chain stitches than you need stitches, and you will then skip stitches evenly on first row - see 5th symbol. Maybe this lesson can help you to understand diagrams. Happy crocheting!

Dear Nancy, you can add markers between each diagram to check your number of sts: A.1 is worked over 6 sts, A.2 is worked over 24 sts (but you skip 4 sts (see diamond symbol) = 20 sts remain), A.3 is worked over 108 sts (= each A.3 is worked over 36 sts, but you skip 6 sts = 30 sts remain for each A.3 x 3 = 90 sts), A.4 is worked over 19 sts (you skip 3 sts = 16 sts remain) and A.1 = 6 sts = you worked over 6+24+108+19+6 chains and have 6+20+90+16+6= 138 sts at the end of 1st row (A.1 counts as 6 sts here). Can you explain the difference please?
23.04.2021 kl. 08:21:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Gili, A.5 applies only in size XL/XXL and XXXL, so you won't use it in size L. A.4 is worked in size L to get half a pattern in width extra to A.3, so that you will have A.2 (= half a repeat) + 3 full repeats (= A.3 x 3) + half a repeat (= A.4) - as shown on the picture. One of the half repeat is towards top = neck edge and folded down reason why you don't see it. Always remember to check and keep your gauge, you should have 20 trebles (UK-crochet terms) = 10 cm in width to get the correct measurements as shown in chart. Happy crocheting!

Dear Lynn Rosa, you are working from the back piece (not exactly the middle of back piece) towards the front edge. Then work the 2nd part from the fundation chain towards the other front piece. You are not supposed to have bobbles after 1st row, but you are casting on more chains than you need stitches on first row - see 4th symbol and this point of the FAQ.

I presume 6 in each repeat but am not sure whether to add all 6 to the start of the A.3a row, the end or whatever. There are 2 chain stitches amongst the trebles in this row and I'm not sure where they should be positioned in relation to the extra stitches that I need to include. Thank you.
26.10.2020 kl. 00:56:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Leanne, to avoid the fundation chain being too tight, you will cast on more chains than you need stitches on first row, when working the very first row, work as shown in diagram, but when you see the small diamond, this means you have to work the next 2 chains as follwos: skip 1 chain, work 1 treble (= UK-terms) in next chain - this way you will skip chains evenly and would have worked the 183 chains = 155 sts at the end of this first row (A.3a is worked over 36 sts but there are only 30 sts at the end of this first row). Hope this will help, happy crocheting!

A.2 begin je met een stokje in de losse, dan sla je 1 lossen over en haak je een stokje en de volgende losse. (Het ruitje staat voor 2 lossen, waarbij je het stokje van de volgende toer in de 2e losse haakt)

Dag Jetkste,
Het klopt dat A.3 op 2 toeren begint met 2 stokjes, maar omdat je A.4 na A.3 haakt en niet ervoor heb je niet 5 lossen achter elkaar. A.4 begint namelijk in elke toer met een stokje.

28.02.2019 kl. 21:39:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Laura, since the fundation chain is often tighter than the next rows, you crochet more chains than required on first row, and, on the first row in pattern you will skip chains evenly as shown in the diagrams (see 4th symbol in diagram) so that you get 155 sts over 183 chains. Happy crocheting!

Hej Drops.

Du har altså heket over: 6 + 24 + 108 + 19 + 6 = 163. Har du husket å hoppe over 1 luftmaske der det er en liten "diamant" på luftmaskeraden i A.4 og A.3?
