We understand however that in certain countries, with different knitting/crochet traditions than Scandinavia, our patterns might be written in a way that differs from what some are used to. But of course we want everyone to understand our patterns, so that’s why we have created an extensive library of tutorial videos as well as step by step lessons that explain how to follow the techniques we use and how to read the diagrams in our patterns. Give them a try!

Dear Mrs Ebbeck, follow the description of ROUND 1, you should incerase only in the squares with a round in A.5. After this round has been worked, simply work as shown in A.4 working the increase in the middle tip on front and on back piece. Happy crocheting!

How do I follow the pattern around (A4), with no increase on the side points (specifically what to do with the corner chains). Thank you in advance.
05.08.2019 kl. 02:38:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Boyle, the first round explains how to crochet the very first round after square, but then from round 2 you will increase only a total of 2 times = on mid front + on mid back, working 2 dc, 3 ch, 2 dc around the middle ch-space on each side (just as for a granny square), ie you will inc 1 st at the beg of front/back piece + 1 st at the end of front/back piece = 2 sts on each side = 4 sts increased. Happy crocheting!

Hi Ann, You start where the black square is in A.5 (on the side of the square) and you work 1 stitch in each stitch apart from at the square corners where you work 2 stitches in each corner. Dear Sarah, in A.4 you will just repeat row 2 and 3, the first row (the one with a star) is showing previous row (= row 1) to show you how to crochet next row. Stripes are (2 rows with off-white, 4 rows with light beige), ie you will work A.4 1 time in height (= 2 rows ) with off-white, A.4 2 times in height (= 4 rows) with light beige) repeat from (to) a total of 3 times while increasing at each tip on every row. Hola Natalia.

I just wanted to highlight that these pattern is hard to follow and confusing. It is a mix between diagrams and written instructions. Why do not stick to one method?. It is a constant backwards and forwards; to my amateur hands it's not ideal. Thanks and kind regards. R.

Don't you think it would be best well explain the diagram A.4 if this is incorporated already to the square after they are connected? It is more confusing if you tried to explain the A.4 done show it on a chart form. Just my two cent on the matter.

How do I work A4 diagram confusing
06.04.2016 kl. 23:48:DROPS Design answered:
Dear LeeAnn, on first row of A.4 you do ch and dc until 3 dc remain before ch-space in the tip (as it says under ROUND 2), on second row you repeat dc-s around every ch-space. Happy crocheting!

How do I work A4?
05.04.2016 kl. 23:07:DROPS Design answered:
Dear JS, start reading A.4 from the bottom corner on the right side and work towards the left every round: Round 1: (3ch to start round), then repeat *1ch, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc*, repeat from *-* around. On round 2, work 2 dc around each ch-space. Happy crocheting!

Correction on what I said earlier, dc2tog, ch3, dc2tog on the same ch2-space not ch 1-space. Thanks!

Just wanted to verify what is on the photo against what is in the chart.. On A.1 diagram, round 3, its says chain 3 (count as dc),dc, ch 3, dc2tog on the same chain 1space, but on the photo as to what I see... it's only dc2tog on chain 1space, then ch3 and do dc2tog on the next ch 1-space, which is correct? Thanks for anyone who can verify this.

I would also like to know if there are written directions for the diagrams in English? Although I have some experience I get confused with the diagrams. Cindy

Dear Cindy, there are only diagrams to this pattern, 1 symbol represents 1 stitch or group of sts - see diagram text and you have to repeat the framed parts in diagrams. Remember your DROPS store will provide you further individual assistance, even per mail or telephone. Happy crocheting!

Do you have a bust measurement range in inches that corresponds to your sizing? Thank you.
12.03.2016 kl. 13:26:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Susan S, you will find at the bottom of the pattern a measurement chart with all finished measurements for each size, taken flat from side to side - convert into inch here. Compare these to a similar garment you have and like the shape to find out the matching size. Happy crocheting!
