Dear Don, for the smallest size you work always as indicated first in a sequence. In the case of the decreases, as indicated in DECREASE TIP, work together every 7th and 8th dc. That is, *6 dc, work the next 2 dc together*. Repeat from * to * 12 times. This is worked only in the black round, where there are no color changes. Happy crochetting!

Hei Anna.

Hei Anna. I str. L/XL = 96 - 14 = 82 fastmasker. mvh DROPS Design

Dear Kdamm, you are supposed to increase for the top of hat (crown) until you get either 88 sts (round 12 in first size) or 96 sts (round 13 in larger size), then work straight to shape the edge of the hat (the length) to the striped edge. Happy crocheting!

Dear Angelina, for a nicer transition for the stripes, add a marker in the first st of every round and let the marker follow the piece so that you can sl st the last st with first colour in this stitch. You can also continue working in the round in a spiral with the new colour, the transition will be quite smooth. Happy crocheting!
