17.01.2019 kl. 04:11:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs St John, it would since BabyAlpaca Silk belongs to yarn group A just as Alpaca and Kid-Silk, the result will just look different because of difference between the texture each yarn. Read more about alternatives and how to calculate the new amount of yarn here. Happy knitting!

I've started knitting this and is probably half-way through, but it keeps curling. Will that be sorted if I block it afterwards? Or is it because I'm using two threads of alpaca instead of alpaca and kid-silk, as well as needles that are a number too small?

Dear Eva, edge is supposed to roll, if your tension match, the rolling edge will look nice then. Happy knitting!

Thank you Lovely pattern.

12.10.2013 kl. 09:18:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kathy, you can calculate how many sts you need with your head measurements on the basis of the pattern and your gauge. You may also have a look on patterns written for a gauge of 23 sts for 10 cm width. Happy knitting!

Have I read the pattern wrong if I measured (as I went) from the edge of the brim unrolled (as opposed to leaving it rolled)? With my doing this, my first hat came out too short to be slouchy, and I plan to knit a second attempt to get the right look. Also, if I make my next hat larger, should I increase the cast on stitches by 8?
14.09.2013 kl. 03:39:DROPS Design answered:
The best way to make sure hat is right size, is to measure your head circumference, check your gauge and count how many sts you need exactly. Also try it on before starting to knit 2 sts tog all around.

Are the length measurements in the pattern measured from very edge of the (unrolled) brim/edge or from the rolled brim (at its edge while it's roiled? I found my first finished hat too short in length to be slouchy as the photo shows...Also, if I were to make my next hat a touch larger, is it important that I add 8 stitches (as opposed to some other number) to the size L's 100 stitches cast on?
