Thank you. I can see that they will shrink but will the foot really go from 11 inches long to 7? (28cm to 18cm)
21.10.2019 kl. 12:30:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sheila, if your tension was right in both height and width (= 17 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm), you can felt your swatch (make sure to have the right number of stitches, ie knit 20 sts x 34 rows) to check the measurements (after felting 20 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm). Read more about felting here. Happy knitting!

Help! I am sure I have knitted them up correctly, but assembling them is a puzzle! I did what I Thought the instructions meant and they are now shaped like boots but the foot length isxabout 10 inches!! Something wrong somewhere...

Dear Sheila, the slippers will be felted, you should have a tension of 17 sts x 22 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm before felting and then after felting approx. 20 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm. Happy knitting!

This question was posted by Joyce back in 2012 and I can find the answer. I too don't understand these instructions: I am not sure what to do on the row where pattern says to purl next row with 2 k sts in each side. Does that mean to k2, then purl to within 2 stitches of the end of row and knit the last 2. Also, what does it mean to " continue in stockinett st but work 1st in each side k each side? Thanks for the help. I'm new at this.

Hi Rachael, The edge stitches are in garter stitch (knit all rows), so when you are purling, the edge stitches will still be knitted. So the your first example you knit 2 on each side of the piece and in the second example you knit 1 on each side. I hope this helps and happy knitting!

Hoi Caja.

Bedankt.

Hoi Caja. Big Merino is superwash behandeld. Dit garen vilt niet. Ik zou snel de order aanpassen! G
