How to make chain stitches (ch).

Figure 1:Place the yarn with the long tail (the working yarn) over left index finger and hold the yarn firmly between the other fingers. Insert the crochet hook under the yarn on the index finger.

Figure 2: Use the crochet hook and grab the yarn, pull it through the loop on the crochet hook.

Figure 3: You adjust the size of the stitch by pulling the yarn with the long tail.

Figure 4: Continue like this until you have the number of stitches you need. Several chain stitch (ch) is called a ch-row og chain row.

When you`re counting chain stitches, the loop that is on the crochet hook should not be included. If it says: …Start in 2nd chain stitch (ch) from the hook… Count the stitches from the first stitch after the loop on the hook and all stitches to the end.
