Clue #6 - Flower Square 6 Cornflower

Here's the 6th clue for our Mystery Blanket CAL in an easy step by step. You can also find two videos for the whole clue at the bottom of this lesson!

Work 5 ch on hook size 3 mm with turquoise.

Form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.

ROUND 1: Work 1st dc = 3 ch.

ROUND 1: Work 1 dc in ch-ring, but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), work 1 dc in same ring the same way.

ROUND 1: Pull yarn through all 3 sts on hook.

ROUND 1: Work 3 ch.

ROUND 1: Work 1 dc-group - READ dc -GROUP.

dc-GROUP:

Work 1 dc in ch-ring but wait with last pull through (= 2 loops on hook), work 2 dc in the ch-ring the same way.

ROUND 1: Pull yarn through all 4 loops on hook.

Complete description of ROUND 1:

ROUND 1: Work entire round as follows: * 1 dcgroup - READ dc-GROUP (1st dc = 3 ch), 3 ch *, repeat from *-* 6 times in total and finish with 1 sl st at the top of first dc-group on round - READ COLOUR CHANGE = 6 dc-groups with 3 ch between each. Cut the yarn.

dc-GROUP:

Work 1 dc in ch-ring but wait with last pull through (= 2 loops on hook), work 2 dc in the ch-ring the same way, pull yarn through all 4 loops on hook.

COLOUR CHANGE:

When changing colour work as follows: Before last pull through of last loop on hook, switch colour, pull the last loop on hook through with the new colour.

ROUND 2: Switch to opal green. Work 1 sl st in first ch-space.

ROUND 2: Work 4 hdc around first ch-space (1st hdc = 2 ch).

ROUND 2: Turn piece, 2 ch.

ROUND 2: Work 1 hdc in first hdc, 2 hdc in each of the next 3 hdc.

ROUND 2: Turn piece, 2 ch.

ROUND 2: Fold leaf towards you, work 4 hdc around same ch-space.

ROUND 2: Turn piece, 2 ch.

ROUND 2: Work 1 hdc in first hdc, 2 hdc in each of the next 3 hdc.

ROUND 2: Turn piece, 2 ch, (= 2 leaves around same ch-space).

ROUND 2: Work 4 hdc around next ch-space.

Complete description of ROUND 2:

ROUND 2: Switch to opal green. Work 1 sl st in first ch-space, * 4 hdc around first/next ch-space (1st hdc = 2 ch), turn piece, 2 ch, 1 hdc in first hdc, 2 hdc in each of the next 3 hdc, turn piece, 2 ch, (fold leaf towards you) work 4 hdc around same ch-space, turn piece, 2 ch, 1 hdc in first hdc, 2 hdc in each of the next 3 hdc, turn piece, 2 ch *, (= 2 leaves around same ch-space), repeat from *-* in every ch-space on round and finish with 1 sl st in first sl st at beg of round - READ COLOUR CHANGE = 12 leaves around 6 ch-spaces. Cut the yarn.

The flower is done. Now work the square.

ROUND 1: Switch to white. Turn piece and work from WS 1 sl st at the top of first dc-group from 1st round of flower.

ROUND 1: Work 4 ch, 1 sl st at the top of next dcgroup from 1st round of flower.

Complete description of ROUND 1:

ROUND 1: Switch to white. Turn piece and work from WS 1 sl st at the top of first dc-group from 1st round of flower, * 4 ch, 1 sl st at the top of next dcgroup from 1st round of flower *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with 1 sl st in first sl st on round = 6 ch-spaces.

ROUND 2: Turn piece. From RS 1 sl st in first chspace, 3 ch (= 1 dc), 3 dc in same ch-space, * (2 dc, 2 ch, 4 dc) in next ch-space, (4 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc) in next ch-space *, 4 dc in next ch-space repeat from *-* 1 more time, and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch at beg of round = 32 dc, 4 ch-spaces.

ROUND 3: 3 ch (= 1 dc), work 1 dc in every dc until 2 ch-loop in each corner, work (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc) in each corner around the entire round and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch at beg of round = 48 dc, 4 ch-spaces.

ROUND 4: 3 ch (= 1 dc), work 1 dc in every dc until 2 ch-loop in each corner, work (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc) in each corner around the entire round and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch at beg of round = 64 dc, 4 ch-spaces.

ROUND 5: 1 ch (= 1 sc), skip 1st dc, work 1 sc in every dc until 2 ch-loop in each corner, work (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) in each corner around entire round. Finish with 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round = 72 sc and 4 hdc around entire square. Cut the yarn.

Backside:

Finished!

One Cornflower finished, measuring approx 9,5 x 9,5 cm.

Fasten off and work 5 squares in total the same way in the same colours - or use the colours you like.

Ik kom bij alle vierkantjes uit op 9 cm. Wat ik ook probeer. Alleen bij de eerste clue die een extra Tour stokjes heeft tov de andere vierkantjes ( de anderen hebben vasten als laatste Tour)kom ik op 9,5 cm uit. Ik haak niet vast of strak. Enig idee hoe dat kan of is dat geen probleem? Hoor graag!

Hoi José. Je kon proberen met een dikkere haaknaald om de juiste maat te krijgen. Maar het is niet echt een groot probleem bij deze deken, hij wordt alleen een beetje kleiner.

Mijn vierkantjes zijn de juiste maat, ik heb alleen gekozen voor drops nr. 6 - naturel i.p.n. drops nr. 7 - wit. Hier had ik extra bollen voor besteld, omdat de looplengte korter is. Maar omdat ik niet weet hoeveel "wit" er nog komt, ben ik bang dat ik toch niet genoeg heb!

Hoi Lidy. Nee, dat zou niet moeten kloppen. Is jouw vierkantje ongeveer 9.5 x 9.5 cm. Je gebruikt ongeveer 5 gr wit per vierkant.

Hola Myriam, terminando la pista 6 tienes que haber gastado aprox 190 gr totales de material, si es así vas bien. Siempre depende un poco de la tensión con la que trabajas. Procura adaptarte a las indicaciones (unos 6 gr por cuadrado).

Cristina, si te fijas en los materiales hay un color llamado turquesa y otro llamado turquesa claro. Debes usar el que se llama turquesa.
