Clue #1 - The neck

One more thing before we start – Have you chosen the size you’ll be making? In the step-by-step pictures you’ll see that we are knitting the sweater in children size 3/4 years (marked in bold text), so make sure you follow the instructions corresponding to your size.

Sizes

Children:

By age: 2 - 3/4 - 5/6 - 7/8 - 9/10 - 11/12 - 13/14 years
By height in cm: 92 - 98/104 - 110/116 - 122/128 - 134/140 - 146/152 - 158/164
By height in feet: 3ft-3ft3/3ft5 - 3ft3/3ft5 – 3ft7/3ft9 - 4ft5/4ft7 - 4ft9/4ft12 - 5ft2/5ft5

Women:

S - M - L - XL - XXL - XXXL

SWEATER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, from-mid back and top down. The yoke is divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round with a circular needle. The sleeves are worked with double pointed needles.


Let’s get started!

INCREASE TIP (evenly spaced):
Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked twisted on the next round to avoid a hole.

NECK:

Children:

Cast on 76-80-84-84-88-88-92 stitches with short circular needle size 3 MM = US 2.5 and color forest green DROPS Karisma. Knit 1 round.

Women:

Cast on 104-108-112-120-124-128 stitches with short circular needle size 3 MM = US 2.5 and color forest green DROPS Karisma. Knit 1 round.

Children:

Then work rib (knit 2, purl 2) and stripes as follows: 2 rounds with color forest green, 2 rounds with color light grey, 4 rounds with color forest green then continue the rib with color light grey until the neck measures 3 cm = 1 1/8". Cut the forest green strand.

Women:

Then work rib (knit 2, purl 2) and stripes as follows: 2 rounds with color forest green, 2 rounds with color light grey, 4 rounds with color forest green then continue the rib with color light grey until the neck measures 4 cm = 1 1/2". Cut the forest green strand.

Children:

When rib is completed, knit 1 round with color light grey and increase 24-26-28-28-28-28-30 stitches evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 100-106-112-112-116-116-122 stitches.

Insert 1 marker mid-front – the yoke is measured from this marker!

Women:

When rib is completed, knit 1 round with color light grey and increase 26-27-28-34-40-42 stitches evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 130-135-140-154-164-170 stitches.

Insert 1 marker mid-front – the yoke is measured from this marker!

And that’s all for the neck!

Buonasera Anna Maria, questi modelli sono pensati per essere lavorati con i disegni, anche perchè si ripetono su tutta la larghezza del maglione. Ricamandoli a punto maglia non otterrebbe lo stesso effetto, ma se preferisce può procedere così. Buon lavoro!
