Clue #4 - Flowers and bubbles

The 4th clue for our mystery blanket contains the first 6 rounds of a large square, worked according to diagram A.2., which we will make in 2 different colour combinations. We will use the same stitches as before, but combining them to make, among other things, bubbles and other exciting patterns!

Colours

The first 6 rounds in A.2 are worked in the following colours:

CAST ON + ROUND 1: 01 white
ROUND 2: 17 light lilac
ROUNDS 3 - 4: 15 heather
ROUND 5: 01 white
ROUND 6: 17 light lilac

COLOUR TIPS:
Are you using a different colour combination than the one we are crocheting with? Make a small note of which colour number replaces which before starting, by seeing the original materials here.

CROCHET INFO:
Information written between two * is to be repeated every time there is *-* in the text.
The red symbols in the diagrams are described in the text over the pictures.

Let's get started!

CAST ON:
Work 4 chain stitches with white, form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch.

ROUND 1:
Work 3 chain stitches (= 1st treble crochet).

Work * 1 chain stitch, 1 treble crochet in the chain-stitch ring *, repeat *-* 11 times in total, 1 chain stitch (= 12 treble crochets).

Finish with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round, read COLOUR CHANGE TIP below. Change to light lilac, cut the white strand.

COLOUR CHANGE TIP:
To get the neatest transition possible when changing colours, work the last stitch of the round with the new colour.

Work * 1 double crochet around the chain-space, 5 chain stitches, 1 double crochet around the next chain space, 9 chain stitches, 1 double crochet around the next chain-space, 5 chain stitches *, repeat *-* 4 times in total.

Finish with 1 slip stitch in the 1st double crochet at the beginning of the round.

Work 1 slip stitch in each of the next 2 chain stitches, 1 chain stitch.

Work *1 double crochet around the chain-space, 2 chain stitches, 5 treble crochets around the 9-chain-space, 3 chain stitches (corner), 5 treble crochets around the same 9-chain-space, 2 chain stitches, 1 double crochet around the next 5-chain-space, 5 chain stitches *, repeat *-* 4 times in total.

Put your work a side and crochet the same square again in this new colour combination:

CAST ON + ROUND 1: 01 white
ROUND 2: 16 lilac
ROUNDS 3 - 4: 15 heather
ROUND 5: 01 white
ROUND 6: 17 light lilac

Finished!

This is what both colour combinations look like after working according to diagram A.2, up to and including round 6.

The final result of clue #4 is then 2 squares of approx. 17 cm x 17 cm.

Britt Wehlast 27.03.2017 - 20:40:

Erika Domsic 27.03.2017 - 00:41:

When you finish the square do you finish off the square or leave the light lilac on your hook?

DROPS Design 27.03.2017 - 13:18:

Hi Erika, just leave it and put your work aside until you get next clue :)

Marie 26.03.2017 - 19:26:

Hilsen Lise

DROPS Design 27.03.2017 - 08:43:

Hej Lise, Jo i første video hækler vi alle omgange i denne ledetråd. God fornøjelse!

Sue 24.03.2017 - 18:13:

Is here a possibility to install a translator function to this pattern page? Can't understand any of the comments or answers being submitted which is very frustrating.

DROPS Design 30.03.2017 - 14:04:

Dear Sue, you are welcome to use any online translator to help you, and/or ask your own question here. Happy crocheting!

Jannie Hansen 24.03.2017 - 13:49:

Elise 24.03.2017 - 09:24:

Is there a possibility to download or print the pattern?

DROPS Design 13.04.2017 - 07:47:

Hi Elise! Sure, you can print/download every single clue - see pink button in right up corner, under the headline. Happy crocheting!

Ann-Britt 24.03.2017 - 09:13:

Was stimmt nun?

Edith 23.03.2017 - 16:14:

Gitte Knappmann 23.03.2017 - 14:45:

Jeg kan ikke printe ledetråden ud. Hvordan gør i andre?

DROPS Design 23.03.2017 - 15:38:
