Clue #15 - 7th edge - sweet green ombre edge

We are almost at the end of our blanket and this new edge creates a lovely ombre effect with 5 rounds of small stitches. So it's just a matter of getting started and have fun!

ROUND 1:

Switch to opal green (no 17) - READ CROCHET TIP-1, work 1 ch (= 1st st), *1 sc around/in next st, ch 1, skip 1 st *, repeat from *-* the entire round. In the corners work 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc and ch 1, skip next st.

Finish round with 1 sc in next st and 1 sl st in 1st st at beg of round, read COLOR CHANGE = 424 sc and 420 ch on round (= 121 sc and 120 ch on each long side, 91 sc and 90 ch on each short side) + 4 3-ch-spaces in the corners.

COLOR CHANGE:

When changing color work as follows: Before last pull through of last loop on hook, switch color, pull the last loop on hook through with the new color.

CROCHET TIP-1: Do not work too tight on round with 1 sc + 1 ch.

*Work 1 sc around/in next st, ch 1, skip 1 st *, repeat from *-* the entire round.

= ch
= sc


In the corners work 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc and ch 1, skip next st.

= ch
= sc


Finish round with 1 sc in next st and 1 sl st in 1st st at beg of round.

= sc
= sl st

ROUND 2:

Switch to turquoise (no 18), work 1 ch (= 1st sc). Crochet as round 1 but work sc around ch and ch over sc. Finish round with 1 sl st in 1st st at beg of round, read COLOR CHANGE = 428 sc and 424 ch on round (= 122 sc and 121 ch on each long side, 92 sc and 91 ch on each short side) + 4 3-ch-spaces in the corners.

Work sc around ch and ch over sc.

= ch
= sc


In the corners work 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc and ch 1, skip next st.

= ch
= sc


Finish round with 1 sl st in 1st st at beg of round.

= sl st

ROUND 3:

Switch to light turquoise (no 19), work 1 ch (= 1st st). Work as round 1 but work sc around ch and ch over sc. Finish round with 1 sc in next st and 1 sl st in 1st st at beg of round, read COLOR CHANGE = 432 sc and 428 ch on round (= 123 sc and 122 ch on each long side, 93 sc and 92 ch on each short side) + 4 3-ch-spaces in the corners.

Work sc around ch and ch over sc.

= ch
= sc


In the corners work 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc and ch 1, skip next st.

= ch
= sc


Finish round with 1 sc in next st and 1 sl st in 1st st at beg of round.

= sc
= sl st

ROUND 4:

Switch to turquoise (no 18), work 1 ch (= 1st sc). Crochet as round 1 but work sc around ch and ch over sc. Finish round with 1 sl st in 1st st at beg of round. read COLOR CHANGE = 436 sc and 432 ch on round (= 124 sc and 123 ch on each long side, 94 sc and 93 ch on each short side) + 4 3-ch-spaces in the corners.

Work sc around ch and ch over sc.

= ch
= sc


In the corners work 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc and ch 1, skip next st.

= ch
= sc


Finish round with 1 sl st in 1st st at beg of round.

= sl st

ROUND 5:

Switch to opal green (no 17), work 1 ch (= 1st st). Crochet as round 1 but work sc around ch and ch over sc. Finish round with 1 sl st in 1st st from beg of round, at the same time change to turquoise (no 18). read COLOR CHANGE = 440 sc and 436 ch on round (= 125 sc and 124 ch on each long side, 95 sc and 94 ch on each short side) + 4 3-ch-spaces in the corners.

Cut the white (no 01) and the light turquoise (no 19) strand and fasten.

Work sc around ch and ch over sc.

= ch
= sc


In the corners work 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc and ch 1, skip next st.

= ch
= sc


Finish round with 1 sl st in 1st st at beg of round.

= sl st

IMPORTANT: The pictures and the video show an example where we crochet the edge around 1 single square. You need to crochet this edge around the whole blanket (40 squares).

Hoi Diana. Volgens mij kan je dat prima doen als je genoeg garen hebt, en je moet waarschijnlijk een beetje aanpassen in het aantal op de eerste toer van volgende week om de laatste rand te laten passen.
