Wie man Strick-Diagramme liest

Ein Strick-Diagramm besteht aus vielen Kästchen. 1 Kästchen = 1 Masche. Die Symbolerklärung beschreibt, wie die Masche gestrickt werden muss. Das Diagramm zeigt alle Hin- und Rück-Reihen, wie sie auf der Vorderseite erscheinen (es sei denn, etwas anderes wird explizit genannt).

Ein Diagramm sieht so aus:

A.1 ist die Bezeichnung des Diagramms und bezieht sich auf das ganze Diagramm.
A.2 ist nur der Teil des Diagramms, der innerhalb der Klammern steht.
Diese Zahl zeigt, wie viele Maschen in der ersten Reihe des Diagramms vorhanden sind.
Dies ist die Symbolerklärung: sie beschreibt, wie jede Masche gestrickt werden muss oder mit welcher Farbe die Masche gestrickt werden muss.

Strick-Diagramme werden anders gelesen als normale Texte: Man liest sie von rechts nach links und von unten nach oben. Sie beginnen also ganz unten in der rechten Ecke und arbeiten sich nach links oben (siehe ROTER Kreis und Pfeil unten). Wenn mit einer anderen Masche begonnen werden soll, wird dies explizit angegeben – es ist z.B. möglich, dass man in den verschiedenen Größen an verschiedenen Stellen im Diagramm beginnt (siehe BLAUES Quadrat unten).

Wenn mehrere Rapporte eines Diagramms gestrickt werden sollen (d.h. wenn es mehrfach in der Breite gestrickt werden soll), strickt man bis zum Ende der Reihe und beginnt dann wieder mit dem ersten Symbol derselben Reihe.

Hin- und Rück-Reihen:

Wenn in Hin- und Rück-Reihen gestrickt wird, wird abwechselnd eine Hin-Reihe (d.h. auf der Vorderseite der Arbeit) und eine Rück-Reihe (d.h. auf der Rückseite der Arbeit) gestrickt. Da das Diagramm alle Maschen zeigt, wie sie auf der Vorderseite erscheinen, muss daher in den Rück-Reihen umgekehrt gestrickt werden (siehe blauer Pfeil im Diagramm unten): die Reihe wird von links nach rechts gelesen, Rechtsmaschen werden links gestrickt und Linksmaschen werden rechts gestrickt (meistens steht in der Symbolerklärung z.B.: „1 Masche rechts in Hin-Reihen, 1 Masche links in Rück-Reihen“).

Runden:

Wenn in Runden gestrickt wird, werden alle Runden auf der Vorderseite gestrickt und das Diagramm wird daher nur von rechts nach links gelesen. Wenn eine neue Runde begonnen wird, die nächste Reihe des Diagramms wieder mit dem Symbol ganz rechts beginnen und wieder nach links lesen (siehe roter Pfeil im Diagramm unten).

Mehrere verschiedene Diagramme nacheinander:

Wenn mehrere verschiedene Diagramme nacheinander in der Breite/in der Runde gestrickt werden sollen, wie folgt stricken: 1 Reihe von Diagramm 1 stricken, dann 1 Reihe von Diagramm 2 stricken, dann 1 Reihe von Diagramm 3 stricken usw. BITTE BEACHTEN: Wenn Sie in Hin- und Rück-Reihen stricken, werden die Diagramme in der Rückreihe in entgegengesetzter Reihenfolge gestrickt – d.h. mit Diagramm 3 beginnen, dann Diagramm 2 stricken und zuletzt Diagramm 1. Die Rück-Reihen werden, wie in Rück-Reihen üblich und wie oben beschrieben, von links nach rechts gelesen.

In der Anleitung kann etwas Ähnliches stehen wie: „A.1, A.2, A.3 insgesamt 1-1-2-3-4 x stricken“. Dies bedeutet, dass zuerst Diagramm A.1 1 x gestrickt wird, dann wird A.2 1 x gestrickt, aber A.3 wird 1-1-2-3-4 x in der Breite gestrickt (die gewünschte Größe wählen). Es wird also NUR A.3 mehrfach gestrickt (in diesem Beispiel in den 3 größten Größen). A.1 und A.2 werden nur 1 x gestrickt.

Wenn die Maschenzahl nicht in den ganzen Rapporten des Diagramms aufgeht:

Manchmal geht die Maschenzahl nicht in einem ganzen Rapport in der Breite auf. Z.B.: A.1 hat 12 Maschen und das Diagramm soll über 40 Maschen gestrickt werden. Hier werden 3 ganze Rapporte von A.1 gestrickt (= 36 Maschen) und dann werden die ersten 4 Maschen des vierten Rapports gestrickt (siehe rote Unterstreichung unten). Dies passiert meistens bei Diagrammen mit sich wiederholendem Muster, sodass das Muster am Kleidungsstück nicht unterbrochen wird.

Dear Inbal, the chart does not necessarily represent all stitches in the round, but rather the main stitch-pattern. This stitch-pattern consists only of 4 stitches that are repeated as many times as needed in each row. For example, you have 24 sts but you work A.1 over 22 stitches. Since the first rows are just multicolor stripes, you only need to work all stitches in stocking stitch with one colour or the other. Afterwards, you will also work the yarn overs, spacing them as you repeat the chart over the remaining stitches in the row. Happy knitting!

Dear Ruth, after working chart A.1 over all 3 stitches and increasing to 5 stitches you will work a new pattern as follows: Work the first row of A.2 over the first 2 stitches, work the middle stitch in garter stitch and work the last 2 stitches as in the first row of A.3 (= 2 increases). On the next row you will work the next row of chart A.3 over A.3, garter stitch over garter stitch and the next row of A.2 over A.2. Work like this until you work the last row of A.3. Now continue with A.2 as before and A.3 over the last 2 stitches and the section in garter stitch will increase by 1 stitch each time you work A.3 from the bottom up. Happy knitting!

Dear Donna, the raglan stitches are the three rightmost in A.1 and 3 leftmost stitches in A.3. You always will have 1 edge stitch (cross square) and 2 stitches in stocking stitch (white squares) before (in A.1)/ after (in A.3) the yarn overs while you will start the pattern as in chart A.2 over the new stitches after the yarn over (A.1) / before the yarn over (A.3). So those 3 stitches, which are always the same as you can see in each row of the charts, are the raglan stitches, while all other new stitches are worked as in chart A.2 (knit/purl stitches). Dear Lena, you should increase for the raglan on each side of each A.1 just as you did on first round (there will be just more stitches between each A.1), and increase like this on every other round = 1 round with 8 increases, 1 round without incraeses, repeat these 2 rounds a total of 13 times in 2nd size = 58 sts + (8x13) = 162 sts when all increases are done. Hei Susanne. Ja, fortsett med A.1 i høyden når du strikker 5. o g 6. rad i A.2. Plagget blir da likt i hver side (med 1 rett maske i hver side før/etter stolpen). Du skal ha 139 masker når du har strikket A.1 / A.2 1 gang i høyden. Slik står det i oppskriften: Når A.1 og A.2 er strikket 1 gang i højden, er det 109-121-127-133 (139-139) masker på pinden. mvh DROPS Design

Hei Bella. Når du strikker 3. rad og A og B første gang, strikkes det 1 maske fra A og 2 masker fra B sammen. Når du skal gjenta B strikker du siste maske i B sammen med de 2 første maskene av B. Når du skal strikke B siste gang strikker du siste maske av B sammen med de 2 første maskene av C. Bruk maksemarkører mellom hvert diagram, så har du en bedre oversikt. mvh DROPS Design
