How to make a sewn cast off

In this DROPS video we show how to make a sewn cast off, an elastic cast off that is perfect for example on toe up socks, edge around neck, a shawl edge or sleeve edges when working top down.

Cut yarn long enough for your cast off, approx 4 times the length of the edge you are casting off.
*With darning needle enter the first two stitches from right to left, pull yarn through, then enter the first stitch only from left to right, pull yarn through and then drop this stitch off the needle. Repeat from *.
Make sure to make the tension match the rest of your knitting on the piece.

This is a very simple, clear, and easy to follow demonstration. I find that this is a better way to bind off "V" shape neck and sleeve edges It look pretty, tidy and elastic. I lost the skill from so many years of not knitting. I pick up the skill now. Not many knitters know this bind off method. Thank you very much to post it on video. It really help to keep the skill pass on next generation. I am so lucky to find it on video. Thanks again for your help.💐😍

DROPS Design answered:

Hej, du ska göra 1 omslag efter varje omslag frÄn det sista varvet i diagrammet samtidigt som du maskar av. Omslagen maskas dÄ av som vanliga maskor.
