How to knit a knot

Keywords: bobbles, top, wave pattern,

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the knot (the 6th diagram symbol), in the diagram A.2 in the Gentle Waves Top in DROPS 190-14. We have already knitted 12 rows of the diagram and start the video with showing the 4th knot on row 13.

This knot/diagram explanation is also used in other patterns.

Diagram explanation:
= knit a knot like this: Knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1 in same stitch, pass the 2nd slipped stitch over the outermost stitch on right needle, pass next stitch over the outermost stitch on needle, and continue like this until 4 stitches in total have been passed over the outermost stitch.
This top is knitted in DROPS Belle, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.

You must read the pattern and look at the diagram to be able to follow this video properly. You’ll find the pattern by clicking on the picture below.

Hello! I am knitting the Raspberry Kiss jacket pattern, which requires a knitted knot. In the diagram section next to the knot symbol (⚫️) it says to knit in front and back loop of same stitch 5x but this tutorial says to knit, purl, knit, purl, knit into the same stitch which seems different then the KFB. Am I wrong, or am I missing something? Is knit, purl, knit the same as KFB? Ive tried doing both per the instructions and they look slightly different. Thank you for your help!

Dear Elizabeth, just follow the instructions in the pattern, the video illustrate a slightly different way to make this knot. Happy knitting!

Buon lavoro!
