Body: Cast on 224 (240-256) sts on smaller circular needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit Pattern 1. Change to larger circular needles and knit Pattern per instructions above, referring to the charts. When the work measures 45 (49-51) cm, staying in pattern, work the next row as follows: Bind off 2 sts for armhole, 108 (116-124) sts for the front, bind off 4 sts for armhole, 108 (116-124) sts for the back, bind off 2 sts for armhole. Knit the rest of each part separately.

Front: = 108 (116-124) sts. Bind off for armholes on each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 (2-3) times, dec 1 st 2 (2-2) times = 94 (98-102) sts. When the work measures 64 (68-71) cm, bind off the center 24 (26-28) sts for the neck. Then bind off at the neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, dec 1 st 2 times. Bind off all sts when the work measures 70 (74-77) cm.

Back: = 108 (116-124) sts. Shape armholes as for the front = 94 (98-102) sts. When the work measures 68 (72-75) cm, bind off the center 38 (40-42) sts for the neck. Then bind off 2 sts at each neck edge on the next row. Bind off all sts when the work measures 70 (74-77) cm.

Sleeves: Cast on 50 (50-52) sts on smaller double pointed needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit Pattern 1. Change to larger double pointed needles and knit Pattern 2 once, 3 rows stockinette st and then repeat Pattern 5 to finished dimensions. At the same time, when the work measures 5 cm, inc 1 st each side of marker 28 (28-29) times, alternately every 3rd and 4th row = 106 (106-110) sts, working the increased sts into pattern. When the work measures 46 (45-44) cm, bind off 2 sts each side of marker and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Shape sleeve caps on each side every other row: bind off 3 sts 9 (10-12) times, bind off all sts. The work measures approx. 53 cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 105-110 sts around the neck on smaller double pointed needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 6 rows garter st, bind off. Sew on the sleeves.
