NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in inches. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. Gauge: 24 sts x 32 rows with Pelliza in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"].

Rib: * K 2, P 2 *, repeat from * - *.

Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows.

Knitting tip: Dec for armhole and neck inside 3 edge st knit in garter st throughout. All decs are made on right side rows. Dec 1 st as follows:
After 3 edge sts: K 2 tog.
Before 3 edge sts: sl 1, K 1, psso.

Body: Cast on 164-184-204 sts with Muskat; join and place a marker at the join. Knit rib - see instructions above - for 6 cm [2 3/8"]. Change to Pelliza and knit stockinette st, increasing 18 sts evenly distributed on the row = 182-202-222 sts. When the piece measures 20-22-24 cm [7 7/8" - 8 5/8" - 9.5"] knit 4 rows garter st over 12 sts at each side - there shall be 79-89-99 sts in stockinette st for the front and for the back. On the next row bind off the 8 st in the center of the garter st at each side and knit each side separately.

Front: = 83-93-103 sts. Keeping 3 sts at each armhole edge in garter st, dec 1 st for armhole at each side - see Knitting tip - 9-13-17 times every other row then 8-7-6 times every 4th row. At the same time when the piece measures 31-34-37 cm [12.25" - 13 3/8" - 14.5"] knit 2 rows garter st over the center 25-27-29 sts, then bind off the center 19-21-23 sts for the neck on the next row. Keeping 3 sts at neck edge in garter st, dec 1 st at each neck edge every other row 8-8-8 times - see Knitting tip. After all armhole and neck shaping is complete, 7-8-9 sts remain on each shoulder. When the piece measures approx. 37-40-43 cm [14.5" - 15.75" - 16 7/8"] knit 2 rows garter st over all sts, then bind off all sts on the next row.

Back: = 83-93-103 sts. Bind off for armhole as on front. When the piece measures 34-37-40 cm [13 3/8" - 14.5" - 15.75"] knit 2 rows garter st over the center 37-39-41 sts, then bind off the center 31-33-35 sts for the neck on the next row. Keeping 3 sts at each neck edge in garter st, dec 1 st at each neck edge every other row 2-2-2 times - see Knitting tip = 7-8-9 sts remain on each shoulder. When the piece measures approx. 37-40-43 cm [14.5" - 15.75" - 16 7/8"] knit 2 rows garter st over all sts, then bind off all sts on the next row.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams.
