Materials: DROPS Nepal from Garnstudio
1 skein (100g) color no 0612 medium brown
and use some left-over color no 0618 camel for decoration.

DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES and CIRCULAR NEEDLE (40 cm / 16'') SIZE 5 mm/ US 8 - or size needed to get 17 sts x 22 rows in stockinette st = 4'' x 4'' (10 x 10 cm).
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE (40 cm / 16'') SIZE 4 mm / US 6 – for rib.

NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. PATTERN: See diagram A.1 for Alpaca pattern.


Worked in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when needed.
Cast on 72-78-84 sts on circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 with medium brown.
Work rib = K 3/P 3 for approx. 4 cm / 1½''.
Switch to circular needle size 5 mm / US 8 and continue in stockinette st until finished – AT THE SAME TIME on first round dec 2-1-0 sts evenly = 70-77-84 sts. REMEMBER THE GAUGE!
When piece measures 10-11-12 cm / 4"-4½"-4 3/4", insert 7 markers in the piece, 10-11-12 sts apart.
On next round dec on right side of all markers by K 2 tog. Repeat dec on every 4th round 2 more times.
Then dec every other round 5-6-7 more times = 14 sts remain on needle.
K 2 tog around, cut the yarn and pull yarn end through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.
Hat measures approx. 19-21-23 cm / 7½"-8 1/4"-9".

Embroider an Alpaca with camel according to diagram A.1 mid front on hat with duplicate stitches.
Beg with pattern on 1st round after rib and make sure that head on the Alpaca is between two markers.
