FALSE ENGLISH RIB - WITH DOUBLE STS:
ROUND 1: * K 1, P 2 *, repeat from *-*.
ROUND 2: * 1 double st (see explanation below), P 2 *, repeat from *-*.
Repeat round 1 and 2.

FALSE ENGLISH RIB - WITH DOUBLE STS - NECK WARMER:
ROUND 1: * K 1, P 3 *, repeat from *-*.
ROUND 2: * 1 double st (see explanation below), P 3 *, repeat from *-*.
Repeat round 1 and 2.

DOUBLE ST:
K 1 in st below next K st on needle. (I.e. sts from the two previous rounds are worked as one).

HAT:
Worked in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when needed.
Cast on 51-54 sts on circular needle size 7 mm / US 10.75 with Eskimo. K 1 round. Then work FALSE ENGLISH RIB WITH DOUBLE STS - see explanation above.
When piece measures 20 cm / 8’’, dec 1 st in every other P-section (beg by dec in first P-section on round, dec by P 2 tog) = 42-45 sts (= 9-9 sts dec) and when piece measures 22 cm / 8¾”’’, dec 1 st in the other P-sections = 34-36 sts (= 8-9 sts dec).
Now work * 1 double st, P 1 *, repeat from *-*.
When piece measures approx. 23 cm / 9’’, work * K 1, K 2 tog *, repeat from *-* until 1-0 sts remain, finish with K 1-0 = 23-24 sts (= 11-12 sts dec).
K 1 round. Then K 2 tog until 1-0 sts remain, finish with K 1-0 = 12-12 sts.
Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts. Tighten tog and fasten.

NECK WARMER:
Worked in the round on circular needle.
Cast on 153 sts on circular needle size 7 mm / US 10.75 with Eskimo.
K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 17 sts evenly (i.e. work every 8th and 9th st tog) = 136 sts.
Then work FALSE ENGLISH RIB – WITH DOUBLE STS - NECK WARMER - see explanation above.
When piece measures 12 cm / 4¾’’, dec 1 st in every other P-section (P tog the last 2 P sts, 17 sts dec) and when piece measures 14 cm / 5½’’, dec 1 st in the other P-sections the same way = 102 sts.
Now work * 1 double st, P 2 *, repeat from *-*.
When piece measures 18 cm / 7’’, dec 1 st in every other P-section (P the 2 P sts tog) = 85 sts.
Work 1 double st and work every other P-section with 1 and 2 P sts.
When piece measures 24 cm / 9½’’, K 1 round over all sts before loosely binding off.
Neck warmer measures approx. 25 cm / 9¾’’.
