To avoid a hole in the middle beg with this technique:
Hold yarn end in the left hand and make a loop around left index finger (from left to right). Hold the loop with left thumb and index finger. * Insert hook through loop, get the yarn from ball, pull thread through loop, make 1 YO on hook and pull YO through st on hook = 1 sc *, repeat from *-* until there are 5-6-8 sc in loop, finish with 1 sl st in first sc. Continue as explained in pattern – AT THE SAME TIME pull yarn end so that loop is tighten tog and the hole disappears.
Replace first sc at beg of round with 1 ch. Finish every round with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round. I.e. when piece is worked in the round, work alternately from RS and WS and fasten with 1 sl st in first ch on round.
Slipper is worked on hook size 10 mm / N/15 with 1 strand of each color (= 2 strands Eskimo). Beg working from the toe. Piece is first worked in the round - read CROCHET INFO above, then worked back and forth.
Make a MAGIC CIRCLE - see explanation above.
ROUND 1 (WS): Turn piece and inc 4 sc evenly = 9-10-12 sc.
ROUND 2 (RS): Turn piece and work 1 sc in every sc.
ROUND 3 (WS): Turn piece and inc 4 sc evenly = 13-14-16 sc.
Work 8-8-10 rounds with 1 sc in every sc (last round is worked from WS).
Now work back and forth.
ROW 1: Work over the first 8-9-11 sc.
ROW 2: Turn piece and work over the first 7-8-10 sc.
ROW 3: Turn piece and work over the first 6-7-9 sc.
ROW 4: Turn piece and work over the first 5-6-8 sc.
Work 1 sc in every sc until slipper measures approx. 23-25-26 cm / 9”-9¾”-10¼”. Fasten off.
Work the edge around with 2 strands old pink as follows: 1 sc in every row and 1 sc in every sc mid on top of foot, repeat 1 more time (= 2 rounds in total). Fasten off. Work another slipper.
