NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in inches. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. CROCHET INFO 1:
Replace first sc at beg of every sc round with 1 ch. Finish every round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round.

CROCHET INFO 2:
Replace first dc at beg of every dc round with 3 ch. Finish every round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.

CROCHET TIP:
The rug can be made smaller by stopping after a round with only dc before fan edge is worked.

RUG APPROX. 105 cm / 41½’’:
Ch 4 with Polaris on hook size 12 mm/O/17 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: READ CROCHET INFO 1. Work 10 sc in ch-ring.
ROUND 2: READ CROCHET INFO 2. Work 2 dc in every sc = 20 dc.
ROUND 3: Work * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 30 dc.
ROUND 4: Work 1 dc, * 3 ch, skip 1 dc and work 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with 3 ch, skip 1 dc and work 1 sl st in first dc at beg of round = 15 ch-spaces on round.
ROUND 5: Work 1 dc in every dc and 2 dc in every ch-space the entire round = 45 dc.
ROUND 6: Work * 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 60 dc.
ROUND 7: Work 1 dc, * ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 sl st in first dc at beg of round = 30 ch-spaces on round.
ROUND 8: Work 1 dc in every dc and 2 dc in every ch-space the entire round = 90 dc.
ROUND 9: Work * 1 dc in each of the next 8 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 100 dc.
ROUND 10: Work 1 dc, * ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 sl st in first dc at beg of round = 50 ch-spaces on round.
ROUND 11: Work * 1 dc in each of the next 9 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round – NOTE: Every ch-space from previous round is counted as 1 dc when this round is worked = 110 dc.
ROUND 12: Work * 1 dc in each of the next 10 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 120 dc.
ROUND 13: Work 1 dc, * ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 sl st in first dc at beg of round = 60 ch-spaces on round.
ROUND 14: Work * 1 dc in each of the next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round – NOTE: Every ch-space from previous round is counted as 1 dc when this round is worked = 140 dc.
ROUND 15: Work * 1 dc in each of the next 13 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 150 dc.

FAN EDGE:
Work * 3 dc in first dc, 1 ch, 3 dc in same dc, skip the next 4 dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with 1 sl st in first dc at beg of round = 30 fans around the edge. Fasten off. Piece now measures approx. 105 cm / 41½’’ in diameter.


RUG APPROX. 125 cm / 49’’:
Work as RUG 105 cm / 41½’’ until and including ROUND 15 and continue as follows:
ROUND 16: Work 1 dc, * ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 sl st in first dc at beg of round = 75 ch-spaces on round.
ROUND 17: Work * 1 dc in each of the next 9 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round – NOTE: Every ch-space from previous round is counted as 1 dc when this round is worked = 165 dc.
ROUND 18: Work * 1 dc in each of the next 10 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 180 dc.
ROUND 19: Work 1 dc, * ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with ch 2, skip 1 dc and work 1 sl st in first dc at beg of round = 90 ch-spaces on round.
ROUND 20: Work * 1 dc in each of the next 8 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round – NOTE: Every ch-space from previous round is counted as 1 dc when this round is worked = 200 dc.

FAN EDGE: Work * 3 dc in first dc, 1 ch, 3 dc in same dc, skip the next 4 dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with 1 sl st in first dc at beg of round = 42 fans around the edge. Fasten off. Piece now measures approx. 125 cm / 49’’ in diameter.
