GARTER ST (in the round on circular needle):
* K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. 1 ridge = 2 rounds.

PATTERN:
Work pattern as follows:
Round 1 and 2: K all sts.
Round 3: * K 2, P 2 *, repeat from *-* the entire round.
Round 4: K over K and P over P.
Round 5 and 6: K all sts.
Round 7: * P 2, K 2 *, repeat from *-* the entire round.
Round 8: K over K and P over P.
Then repeat round 1-8.
----------------------------------------------------------

HAT:
Worked in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when needed. Cast on 116-124 sts on circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 with Karisma.
Work rib = K 2/P 2 for 4 cm / 1½''. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 and K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 8-4 sts evenly = 108-120 sts. Then work PATTERN - see explanation above.
Continue with pattern until piece measures 20-21 cm / 8"-8 1/4". Then work rib (= K 2/P 2), AT THE SAME TIME dec evenly by working all P sts tog (27-30 dec) = 81-90 sts remain on needle. Then work 5 rounds rib (K 2/P 1) over all sts on needle. On next round dec all P-sts on round by working * K 1, K 2 tog*, repeat *-* around = 54-60 sts on needle.
Then work 5 rounds in stockinette st. Continue in stockinette st AT THE SAME TIME dec by working 2 and 2 sts K tog on the next 2 rounds = 14-15 sts remain on needle.
Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. The hat measures approx. 25-26 cm / 9 3/4"-10 1/4" vertically.

NECK WARMER:
Worked in the round on circular needle from bottom up.
Cast on 300-330-370 sts on circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 with Karisma. Work rib = K 2/P 3.
When piece measures 3 cm / 1 1/8'', dec every other section with 3 P sts to 2 P sts (work the first 2 P tog). When piece measures 4 cm / 1½'', dec all the remaining 3 P sts to 2 P sts = 240-264-296 sts.
Continue rib K 2/P 2 until piece measures 5 cm / 2''. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 and K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 88-76-72 sts evenly = 152-188-224 sts. Now work PATTERN until piece measures 25-27-29 cm / 9 3/4"-10½"-11½".
On next round K over all sts AT THE SAME TIME inc 48-64-72 sts evenly = 200-252-296 sts. Switch to circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 and work rib = K 2/P 2 until rib measures 5 cm / 2''. Loosely bind off with K over K and P over P, neck warmer measures approx. 30-32-34 cm / 11 3/4"-12½"-13½" vertically.
