SCARF:
The entire scarf is worked with 1 strand Fabel + 1 strand Kid-Silk (= 2 strands).
Loosely cast on 57 sts on needle size 4 mm [US 6] with off white Fabel + Kid-Silk.
P 1 row from WS. Then work next row as follows from RS: 4 edge sts in GARTER ST - see explanation above - * K 4, P 5 *, repeat from *-* until 8 sts remain and finish with K 4 and 4 edge sts in GARTER ST. Continue rib like this until piece measures 3 cm [1’’].
On next row from RS dec all 5 P sts to 4 P sts (P tog the first 2 sts in every repetition) = 52 sts.
Then work TEXTURE STRIPES - see explanation above, with 4 edge sts in garter st in each side.
AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 23 cm [9’’], switch to salt and pepper Fabel + Kid-Silk. When piece measures 57 cm [22½’’], switch to off white Fabel + Kid-Silk.

When piece measures 177 cm [69½’’], (texture stripes are now done), work next row as follows from RS: 4 edge sts in garter st, * K 4, P 4 *, repeat from *-* until 8 sts remain, finish with K 4 and 4 edge sts in garter st.
Continue rib like this but on next row from RS, inc all 4 P sts to 5 P sts - READ INCREASE TIP = 57 sts. When rib measures 3 cm [1’’] (the entire scarf measures approx. 180 cm [70 3/4’’]), loosely bind off with K over K and P over P.

MITTENS:
The entire mitten is worked with 1 strand Fabel + 1 strand Kid-Silk (= 2 strands).

RIGHT MITTEN:
Cast on 48-52 sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm [US 2.5] with off white Fabel + Kid-Silk.
K 1 round, then work rib (= K 2/P 2).
When rib measures 7 cm [2 3/4’’], work in stockinette st while AT THE SAME TIME on 1st round dec 12 sts evenly = 36-40 sts.
When piece measures 9 cm [3½’’], work PATTERN - see explanation above.
When piece measures 13 cm [5’’], slip the first 8-8 sts on a stitch holder for thumb and cast on 8-8 new sts behind sts on stitch holder = 36-40 sts.
Switch to salt and pepper Fabel + Kid-Silk and continue in the round until piece measures 24-25 cm [9½”-9 3/4’’] (approx. 3 cm [1’’] remain until finished measurements).

Repeat dec every other round 3-5 more times = 12-10 sts remain on needle.
K 2 tog around, cut the yarn, pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.

EDGE:
Crochet an edge around the opening of mitten on hook size 3 mm [C] with 2 strands Kid-Silk as follows: 1 sc in first st, * ch 3, skip approx. ½ cm [1/4’’], 1 sc in next st *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with ch 3 and 1 sl st in sc from beg of round.

THUMB:
Slip the 8-8 thumb sts back on double pointed needles size 3 mm [US 2.5].
Pick up 8-8 sts in the edge behind the thumb with salt and pepper Fabel + Kid-Silk = 16-16 sts. Continue in the round with PATTERN until thumb measures 4-5 cm [1½”-2’’].
Then work in stockinette st. When thumb measures 5-7 cm [2”-2 ¾”], K2 tog around = 8-8 sts.
