Continue in diagram A-1 (= 43 sts) – repeat 2 times on round.
Continue like this until A-1 has been worked 1 time vertically.
Now P 1 round, K 1 round and P 1 round with red.
Then K 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME cast on 20 new sts at the end of round (with red).
Turn piece, bind off the 20 new sts and bind off the remaining 86 sts from WS.
Place pot holder flat with the markers at the sides.
Sew the pot holder tog at the bottom with neat, little stitches – sew inside the cast on edge.
Sew the pot holder tog at the top the same way – NOTE: The 20 new sts = loop, sew the end of the loop to the corner of the pot holder.
Knit another pot holder but switch the colors so that the pattern color is red and the base color is off white.
