PATTERN: Diagrams M.1 to M.5. Work entire pattern in stocking st.

HEEL DECREASE:
Row 1 (= RS): Work until 6-8-8 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso, turn piece.
Row 2 (= WS): Work until 6-8-8 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P1, psso, turn piece.
Row 3 (= RS): Work until 5-7-7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso, turn piece.
Row 4 (= WS): Work until 5-7-7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P1, psso, turn piece.
Continue dec like this with 1 less st before each dec until there are 9-11-11 sts on needle.
--------------------------------------------------------

SOCK:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 56-64-64 sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm with red Karisma. K 1 round, then work 4 rounds rib = K1/P1. Switch to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and K 1 round with red. Now work M.1 (= 4 sts) on all sts on needle, AT THE SAME TIME on last round of M.1 dec 2-4-4 sts evenly = 54-60-60 sts. Work 1 round with off white, then continue as follows: M.2 (= 35 sts), M.3 (= 6 sts) on the next 19-25-25 sts (work the last of theses sts as the first st in M.3). Work M.3 a total of 3 times vertically, then put M.2 (= 35 sts) on a stitch holder = 19-25-25 sts for heel.
Work M.4 back and forth over these sts for 5-5.5-6 cm, insert a marker, now dec for heel – see explanation above.
After heel dec, knit up 12-14-14 sts each side of heel and slip the 35 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 68-74-74 sts. Continue in M.2 as before on the 35 sts on upper foot, and in M.4 on sts under foot, AT THE SAME TIME dec each side of M.2 (the 35 sts on upper foot) – K tog the 2 sts before M.2 and K the 2 sts after M.2 twisted tog (i.e knit in the back loop of st instead of front) repeat dec on every other round a total of 5 times = 58-64-64 sts. Continue with pattern M.2 and M.4. When M.2 has been worked 2 times vertically, continue as follows: work the 35 sts from upper foot now as as follows: M.5 (= 3 sts), M.4 on the next 29 sts, M.5, and work the 23-29-29 sts under foot in M.4 as before. Continue until piece measures 17-18-21 cm from marker on heel (= 5-6-6 cm remain). Continue this pattern, AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes each side of the central st in M.5 (i.e. the st that is worked every other round in red and off white) each side. Dec as follows before st: K tog the last 2 sts with off white. Dec as follows after st: slip 1 st, K1, psso. Dec every round a total of 9-10-10 times = 22-24-24 sts. K2 tog the entire round. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts and fasten.
