Moss stitch:
Row 1: * K1, P1 *, repeat from *-*.
Row 2: K over P and P over K. Repeat Row 2.

Flower bud pattern: See diagrams M.1 and M.2 – pattern in diagrams is seen from RS.

Buttonhole: Cast off for buttonholes on right front band. 1 buttonhole = cast off 3rd and 4th sts from mid front and cast on 2 new sts on return row.
Cast off for buttonhole when piece measures:
Size S: 9, 17, 25, 33 and 41 cm.
Size M: 9, 18, 26, 34 and 43 cm.
Size L: 9, 18, 27, 36 and 45 cm.
Size XL: 9, 17, 25, 32, 40 and 47 cm.
Size XXL: 9, 17, 25, 33, 41 and 49 cm.
Size XXXL: 11, 19, 27, 35, 43 and 51 cm.

Body: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 209-225-257-273-305-321 sts (includes 7 front band sts each side towards mid front) on circular needle size 3.5 mm with Silke-Tweed.
Work 5 rounds moss sts – see explanation above. Work 2 rounds stocking sts with front bands in moss st until completed measurement.
Continue in M.1 as follows: 7 front band sts in moss sts, M.1A (= 12 sts), M.1B on 168-184-216-232-264-280 sts, M.1C (= 15 sts) and 7 front band sts in moss sts.
After 1 vertical repeat of M.1 complete piece in M.2.
Remember buttonholes on right front band – see explanation above.
When piece measures 31-32-33-34-35-36 cm work next row as follows: 52-56-64-68-76-80 sts (= right front piece), cast off 8 sts for armhole, 89-97-113-121-137-145 sts (= back piece), cast off 8 sts for armhole, 52-56-64-68-76-80 sts (= left front piece). Now complete each piece separately.

Back piece: = 89-97-113-121-137-145 sts. Continue pattern at the same time cast off for armhole each side on every other row: 3 sts 0-1-1-2-3-3 times, 2 sts 1-1-3-3-4-5 time and 1 st 1-1-3-2-3-4 times = 83-85-89-93-97-99 sts – work sts not fitting into pattern each side in stocking st. At the same time when piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm cast off the middle 39-39-39-41-41-41 sts for neck and cast off 1 st on neckline on next row = 21-22-24-25-27-28 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures approx 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm – adjust to one whole flower bud.

Right front piece: = 52-56-64-68-76-80 sts. Continue pattern and cast off for armhole at side as described for back piece = 49-50-52-54-56-57 sts. When piece measures 42-44-46-48-50-52 cm slip outermost 17-17-17-18-18-18 sts towards mid front on a thread or stitch holder for neck. Dec to shape neckline on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 4 times = 21-22-24-25-27-28 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures the same as back piece.

Left front piece: Like right piece but reversed.

Sleeve: Work bottom edge of sleeve back and forth on small circular needle, and continue in the round.
Cast on 56-58-60-62-64-66 sts on small circular needle size 3.5 mm with Silke-Tweed. Work 5 cm moss stitch back and forth on needle. Now work 1 row stocking st at the same time working 2 sts in all sts = 112-116-120-124-128-132 sts. Continue in stocking st in the round. When piece measures 8-8-8-7-7-7 cm dec 2 sts mid under arm on every 4-4-4-5-5-5 round a total of 17-17-16-15-15-15 times = 78-82-88-94-98-102 sts. When piece measures 33 cm (for all sizes) cast off 8 sts mid under arm and complete piece back and forth on needle. Dec to shape the sleeve cap each side on every other row: 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 4-6-7-9-12-13 times, then dec 2 sts each side until piece measures 40-41-42-43-45-46 cm, now cast off 3 sts 1 time each side before casting off remaining sts.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams.
Neckline: Pick up approx 110 to 120 sts (including sts from thread or stitch holder at front) round neckline on circular needle size 3.5 mm. Knit 6 rows moss st back and forth on needle. Cast off in moss st. Sew edge tog at bottom of each sleeve – sew in outermost loop of outermost sts. Set in sleeves and sew on buttons.
