Knitting tension: 12 sts x 17 rows on needle size 8mm in stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm
Rib: *K3, P3*, repeat from *-*.

Because of the number of sts the jacket is knitted back and forth on circular needles.

Back piece: Cast on 62-67-73-79-85 sts (incl 1edge st each side) on needle size 8 mm and knit stocking sts. When piece measures 8 cm, dec 1 st each side on every 5 cm a total of 6 times = 50-55-61-67-73 sts. When piece measures 40-41-42-43-44 cm inc 1 st each side on every 3.5 cm a total of 3 times = 56-61-67-73-79 sts. When piece measures 52-53-54-55-56 cm cast on new sts each side for sleeves on every other row (i.e. at the beg of each row) as follows: 1 st 1-2-5-6-8 times, 2 sts 2-4-3-2-1 times, 3 sts 4-2-1-1-1 times and then 16-16-16-15-14 sts 1 time = 122-125-127-129-133 sts. When piece measures 72-74-76-78-80 cm cast off the middle 10-11-11-11-11 sts for neck and dec 1 st on neckline on next row = 55-56-57-58-60 sts left on shoulder/sleeve. Cast off when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82 cm.

Left Front: Please read all of this section before knitting it!
Cast on 16-17-18-19-20 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on circular needle size 8 mm and knit stocking sts. At the same time inc for rounded front edge towards mid front on every other row (i.e. at the beginning of each row): 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-3-4-5-6 times and 1 st 5 times, then on every 4th row: 1 st 6 times and on every 8th row: 1 st 2 times.
Dec at side: At the same time when piece measures 8 cm dec at side as done for back piece.
Inc at side: At the same time when piece measures 40-41-42-43-44 cm inc at side as done for back piece

Neckline: When piece measures 48-49-50-51-52 cm dec to shape the neckline on every 4th row: 1 st 2 times, on every other row: 1 st 6-7-7-7-7 times and then on every 4th row again: 1 st 3 times.
Sleeve: At the same time when piece measures 52-53-54-55-56 cm cast on new sts for sleeve as described for back piece. After all dec and inc are complete = 55-56-57-58-60 sts left on shoulder/sleeve. Cast off when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82 cm.

Right front: Cast on and knit as left front piece, but mirrored.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams.
Cuffs: Pick up 44-44-44-50-50 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) round the sleeve edges on circular needle size 6 mm. Knit Rib back and forth on needle with 1 edge st each side. When Rib measures 12 cm (or desired length – try on the jacket) cast off loosely in Rib.
Sew side and sleeve seams inside 1 edge st.
Rib round back and front pieces: Pick up approx 372 – 444 sts (divisible by 6) on circular needle size 6 mm along the entire opening of the jacket – there should be approx 18 sts per 10 cm, it is important to pick enough sts so that the edge doesn’t become too tight. Knit 6 cm Rib and cast off in Rib.
