We are now sending the new fall/winter catalogs to our DROPS dealers. They are printed in a limited edition and and each catalog costs only 1£/$2 over the counter and 2£/$4 by mail order. DROPS fall/winter 09/10 collection is very varied. From fine to heavy, garments with texture and patterned. Jackets, sweaters, ponchos, shawls and lots of accessories. The designs are chosen on the basis of an overall assessment, where voting results and accompanying comments have been important.

Knitting tension: 20 sts x 26 rows on needles size 4.5 mm with Drops Muskat in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm

Pattern: See diagram M.1. Diagrams are seen from RS.

Garter sts back and forth: Knit all rows.

Closing tips (applies to neckline):
All decreases are done from RS! Dec for neckline within 5 sts garter sts as follows:
Before 5 sts garter sts: K2 tog
After 5 sts garter sts: Slip 1 sts as if to knit, K1, psso.

Buttonholes: Cast off for buttonhole on right front band. 1 buttonhole = cast off 3rd sts from mid front. On next row cast on 1 new sts over dec sts. Cast off for buttonhole when piece measures:
Size 5/6: 7 and 13 cm.
Size 7/8: 9 and 15 cm.
Size 9/10: 11 and 17 cm.
Size 11/12: 12 and 19 cm.
Size 13/14: 13 and 21 cm.

Back and front pieces:
Knit piece back and forth on circular needles from mid front. Double circular needle size 4.5 mm (alternatively use 2 circular needles) and cast on 139-155-155-171-171 sts (incl 5 front band sts on each side) over 2 rows with Drops Muskat (this is done for elasticity of cast on edge). Pull out the one needle. Knit 4 rows garter sts. Continue as follows: 5 sts garter st (front band), M.1 over next 128-144-144-160-160 sts, finish with 1 sts stocking sts and 5 garter sts (front band). Cast off for buttonhole on right front band – see explanation above. Knit M.1 time in height, then continue in stocking sts on all sts (knit front band in garter sts throughout), at the same time on 1st row adjust sts number to 142-150-158-166-174. Insert 1 marking thread after 38-40-42-44-46 sts in from each side (back piece = 66-70-74-78-82 sts). When piece measures 15-17-19-21-23 cm dec 1 sts for neck on each side towards mid front – read Decreasing tips on every 4th row, 14-14-14-15-15 times in total. At the same time when piece measures 21-23-25-27-29 cm split piece with marking threads.

Back piece: = 66-70-74-78-82 sts. Cast on new sts loosely on each side for sleeves on every other row (i.e. at end of each row): 5 sts 8-9-10-10-10 times in total and 7-11-11-14-16 sts 1 time = 160-182-196-206-214 sts. Garter st the outermost 4 sts in each side (stocking sts remaining sts de as before). When piece measures 35-38-41-44-47 cm garter st mid 28-28-28-30-30 sts. When piece measures 36-39-42-45-48 cm cast off mid 16-16-16-18-18 sts for neck. Continuing to cast off 1 sts on next row at neckline = 71-82-89-93-97 sts left on each shoulder/sleeve. Continue 5 sts garter sts at neckline until piece is completed. Cast off when piece measures 38-41-44-47-50 cm.

Front piece: Continue casting off for neckline. Inc for sleeve on side as on back piece. Garter sts outermost 4 sts on side (knit remaining sts as previously). There are 71-82-89-93-97 sts on needle when all dec and inc are completed. Cast off when piece measures 38-41-44-47-50 cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder and sleeve seams. Sew sleeve and side seams in one.

Crochet button cover: Crochet 2 covers on crochet hook size 3 mm in Drops Muskat. Crochet 2 ch, then crochet 5 dc in the first of the 2 ch, finish off with 1 sl st in first dc of round (1st round).
2nd round: 1 ch, crochet 2 dc in each dc and finish off with 1 sl st in first dc in beginning of round (= 10 dc).
3rd round: 1 ch, crochet 1 dc in each dc and finish off with 1 sl st in first dc in beginning of round (= 10 dc).
4th round: 1 ch, crochet 1 dc in every 2nd dc and finish with 1 sl st in first dc in beginning of round (= 5 dc).
Slip button inside cover, sew opening and pull tog.
Sew in buttons on left front piece.
