Knitting tension: 20 sts x 26 rows on needles size 4.5 mm in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm.
Garter sts (back and forth on needle): Knit all rows.
Rib: *K2, P2*, repeat from *-*.
Pattern: See diagram M.1 and M.2. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS. English Translations for the wording in the diagrams are given at the bottom of this pattern, and they are given in the vertical order in which they appear in the diagram.

Casting off tips (apply for armhole): Cast off inside 3 sts knitted as follows from the edge (seen from the RS): 1 st of garter sts, K2.
NB! On rows without any casting off P the 4th st from the edge (seen from the RS).
Cast off before 3 sts: P2 tog.
Cast off after 3 sts: P2 tog into back of st.

Back piece: Cast on 54-60-68-78 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needles size 4.5 mm with off-white. Knit 2 rows of garter sts (1st row = RS), continue in M.1. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 19-20-23-27 cm cast off 3 sts each side for armhole. Then cast off 1 st each side- see casting off tips - on every 4th row 3-2-2-0 times and then 1 st on every other row 3-6-8-13 times = 36-38-42-46 sts. Continue in M.1, but knit the outer most 4 sts each side (seen from the RS) as follows: 1 st of garter sts, K2 and P1. When piece measures 28-30-34-39 cm cast off the middle 16-16-18-20 sts for neck and dec 2 sts towards the neck on next row = 8-9-10-11 sts left for each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 30-32-36-41 cm.
Right front (when worn): Cast on 31-34-38-43 sts (incl 1 edge st at the side and 1 band st towards mid front) on needles size 4.5 mm with off-white and knit 2 rows of garter sts (1st row = RS). Knit next row as follows: 1 band st, M.2 (= 17 sts), M.1 over the following 12-15-19-24 sts and 1 edge st. Continue pattern like this.

Please read all of the following section before continuing!
Armhole: When piece measures 19-20-23-27 cm cast off for armhole at the sides as done for the back. Continue the pattern, but knit the outer most 4 sts from the side (seen from the RS) as follows: 1 sts of garter sts, K2, P1.
Neck shaping: At the same time when piece measures 25-27-30-35 cm cast off 8-8-9-10 sts mid front for neck and dec to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 4 times = 8-9-10-11 sts left for each shoulder. Cast of when piece measures 30-32-36-41 cm

Left front: Cast on and knit as right front but reverse.

Sleeves: Cast on 42-42-47-52 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needle size 3.5 mm with off-white. Knit in Rib as follows (1st row = RS): 1 edge st, *K2, P3*, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 edge st. After 6 rows of Rib dec all P3 to P2 = 34-34-38-42 sts. Change to needles size 4.5 mm and knit 2 rows of garter sts beginning from the WS. Continue in M.1 until finished measurements. At the same time when piece measures 3 cm inc 1 st each side on every 2.5-2-2-2.5 cm a total of 6-8-8-8 times = 46-50-54-58 sts. When piece measures 17-19-21-24 cm cast off for sleeve cap each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-3-3-4 times and 1 st 7-7-9-9-times. When piece measures 24-27-30-34 cm cast off the remaining 18 sts.

Assembly: Sew the shoulder seams.

Neck: Pick up approx 60-76 sts (divisible with 4) round the neck on needles size 3.5 mm with off-white. Knit 2 rows of garter sts beginning from the WS. Continue in Rib – see explanation above – with 1 st of garter sts and K2 each side towards mid front (seen from the RS). Cast off loosely with K over K and P over P when neck measures 3 to 5 cm.

Left front band: Pick up approx 68-92 sts (divisible with 4) along the left front band (also along the neck) on needle size 3.5 mm with off-white. Knit 2 rows of garter sts beginning from the WS. Continue in Rib with 1 st of garter sts and K2 at the top and the bottom (seen from the RS). Cast off loosely with K over K and P over P when the band measure 2-3 cm.

Right band: Knit as the left band, but after 1 cm cast off for 6-6-7-7 buttonholes evenly distributed on the band. The buttonhole should be approx 2 cm from the bottom edge and the top should be approx 1 cm from the top. 1 buttonhole = cast off 1 st and cast on 1 new st on the returning row.
Sew in the sleeves inside 1 edge st. Sew the sleeve and the side seams inside 1 edge st and sew on the buttons.
