DROPS 8 mm [US 11] needles, or size needed to obtain correct gauge.

We are now sending the new fall/winter catalogs to our DROPS dealers. They are printed in a limited edition and and each catalog costs only 1£/$2 over the counter and 2£/$4 by mail order. DROPS fall/winter 09/10 collection is very varied. From fine to heavy, garments with texture and patterned. Jackets, sweaters, ponchos, shawls and lots of accessories. The designs are chosen on the basis of an overall assessment, where voting results and accompanying comments have been important.

AFGHAN:

Gauge: 13 sts x 24 rows with 2 strands Alpaca in garter st = 10 x 10 cm. 1 square = 20 x 18 cm.

Knitting tip-1: Leave approx. 50 cm of yarn of every color pattern to use to sew strips together.

Knitting tip-2: Knit the edge st a little tight so that the edge of the afghan will be neat.

Afghan: The afghan is knit in 5 strips, then sewn together lengthwise. Each length is knit in stripes following the color diagram for Model No. 13 on page 29 of Drops No. 88. Start the first strip at the arrow.

A = nr 7139, seafoam
B = nr 7120, light seafoam
C = nr 0618, beige heather
D = nr 6309, blue green
E = nr 0302, camel
F = nr 7300, apple green
G = nr 0100, natural

1st strip: Loosely cast on 26 sts with 2 strands blue green Alpaca. Knit 44 rows garter st (approx. 18 cm) – see Knitting tip-2. Change to camel and knit 44 rows garter st. Continue in garter st following color diagram. After last row the length is approx. 144 cm. Knit 4 more strips following color diagram.

Assembly: Sew the 5 strips lengthwise edge to edge (use yarn from each square to assemble).




PILLOW:

Measurements: approx. 45 x 45 cm [17.75" x 17.75"]

Materials: ESKIMO
450 gr nr 01, natural

DROPS 12 mm [US 17] needles, or size needed to obtain correct gauge.

Gauge: 7 sts x 16 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm.

Pillow: Loosely cast on 31 sts with 2 strands Eskimo. Knit garter st. Bind off when the piece measures 84 cm.

Assembly: Fold pillow in half and sew side seams edge to edge. Insert pillow form and sew top.
