Gauge: 18 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm on largest needles in stockinette st.
Rib: * P 1, K 2 *, repeat from * - *.
Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows.
Knitting tips for decreasing (for neck shaping):
All decs are made on right side rows. Dec 1 st inside 1 edge st in garter st as follows:
After 1 edge st: Slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso.
Before 1 edge st: K 2 tog.
Ruffle edge:
Row 1: stockinette st
Row 2: stockinette st, inc 1 st between every st
Rows 3-5: stockinette st
Row 6: stockinette st, inc 1 st between every st
(if you wish a less ruffled edge, inc 1 st between every other st)
Rows 7-9: stockinette st.
Bind off with Picot edge: * K 2 tog the first 2 sts, leaving those 2 sts on left needle, and put the new st onto the left needle, K 1 in the first st on left needle, leave the st on needle and put the new st onto the left needle. K 2, pass the first st over the second st to bind off 1 st. Then K 2 tog – there are now 2 sts on the right needle, pass the first st over the second to bind off 1 st. There is now 1 st on the right needle, put it back onto the left needle *, now bind off 1 st, repeat from * - *.
Back: Cast on 81-90-96-105 sts on mid-size needles with Angora Tweed. Knit rib for 2 cm, start and end with 1 edge st and P 1. Change to largest needles and stockinette st and dec 1 st for size M and 2 sts for size XL evenly distributed on the 1st row = 81-89-96-103 sts.
At the same time when the piece measures 5 cm dec 1 st at each side every 3 cm 4 times = 73-81-88-95 sts. When the piece measures 20-21-22-23 cm inc 1 st at each side every 3 cm 4 times = 81-89-96-103 sts. When the piece measures 34-35-36-37 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 1-1-1-2 times, 2 sts 1-2-3-3 times and 1 st 2-3-4-4 times = 67-69-70-71 sts.
When the piece measures 52-54-56-58 cm knit 2 rows garter st over the center 17-19-20-21 sts. Then bind off the center 15-17-18-19 sts for the neck. Dec 1 st at each neck edge on the next row - see knitting tips = 25-25-25-25 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 54-56-58-60 cm.
Left front: Cast on 43-46-49-52 sts on mid-size needles with Angora-Tweed. Knit rib - start with 1 edge st + K 2 from side and finish with 1 st in garter st at the center front. When the rib measures 2 cm change to largest needles and stockinette st (but keep edge st at center front in garter st throughout) and dec 2 sts for size S and 1 st for size M evenly distributed on the 1st row = 41-45-49-52 sts. Put 1 marker 17-18-19-20 sts in from center front.
Read the entire next section before knitting:
When the piece measures 5 cm dec 1 st at the side every 3 cm a total of 4 times = 37-41-45-48 sts.
At the same time when the piece measures 6 cm knit the next row as follows (from side): stockinette st to the marker, then after marker: yo, slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso, stockinette st for 14-15-16-17 sts, K 1 (garter st edge st at the center front). Repeat this every 4 rows a total of 7 times. Continue with stockinette st (front edge st in garter st).
When the piece measures 20-21-22-23 cm inc 1 st at the side every 3 cm a total of 4 times.
At the same time when the piece measures 26-27-28-29 cm dec 1 st at the center front edge for neck shaping every 6 rows 9-10-11-11 times - see knitting tips. At the same time when the piece measures 34-35-36-37 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back. After all armhole and neck shaping is complete 25 sts remain on shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 54-56-58-60 cm.
Right front: Cast on and knit the same as the left front, but knit the yo rows as follows from center front: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), 14-15-16-17 sts stockinette st, K 2 tog, yo and then the remaining sts in stockinette st.
Sleeve: Cast on 38-40-42-44 sts on mid-size needles with Angora-Tweed. Knit 2 rows garter st, change to largest needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 6 cm inc 1 st at each side a total of 14-16-17-18 times:
Size S: alternately every 7th and 8th row.
Size M: every 6 rows
Size L: alternately every 5th and 6th row.
Size XL: every 5 rows
= 66-72-76-80 sts. When sleeve measures 49-48-47-46 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-3-3-2 times, 1 st 2-2-3-8 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 56-56-56-57 cm and then bind off 3 sts 1 time. The piece measures approx. 57-57-57-58 cm, bind off the remaining sts.
Assembly: Sew shoulder seams.
Collar + button band: Pick up with Vivaldi in the garter st edge sts on smallest needles, starting at lower edge on right button band as follows: * Pick up 1 st, yo, skip over 1 row/st *, repeat from * - * along the buttonband (= approx. 60-70 sts), continue around the neck (= approx. 154-170 sts) and down along the other buttonband (= approx. 60-70 sts) = approx. 274-310 sts. Knit 1 row, decreasing (evenly distributed) to 240-250-260-270 sts. Knit ruffle edge - see instructions above and bind off with picot edge.
Sleeve: Pick up in cast-on row 1 st in every st, with Vivaldi and smallest needles = 38-40-42-44 sts. Knit 1 row, increasing 4 sts evenly distributed = 42-44-46-48 sts. Knit ruffle edge - see instructions above and bind off with picot edge.
Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. Sew 1 button on wrong side where neck shaping begins on left front.
Use the ruffle edge for button loop.
