We are now sending the new fall/winter catalogs to our DROPS dealers. They are printed in a limited edition and and each catalog costs only 1£/$2 over the counter and 2£/$4 by mail order. Gauge: 23 sts x 30 rows on larger needles in pattern = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"].

Pattern: See charts (1 chart = 1 repeat). The pattern is seen from the right side and is knit entirely in stockinette stitch.

Border: Knit 3 cm [1.25"] stockinette st, 1 row reverse stockinette st (turning edge) - measure the work from here - 3 cm [1.25"] stockinette st.

Body: Cast on 216-240-264 sts on smaller circular needles with red and knit border - see instructions above. Change to larger circular needles and knit Pattern 1 one time, then continue in stockinette st with rust. When the piece measures 22-23-24 cm [8-5/8" - 9" - 9.5"] knit Pattern 2.
When the piece measures 33-34-36 cm [13" - 13 3/8" - 14-1/8"] knit the next row as follows: bind off 3-3-3 sts for armhole, 102-114-126 sts in Patter for the front, bind off 6-6-6 sts for armhole, 102-114-126 sts in Pattern for the back, bind off 3-3-3 sts for armhole. Knit each piece separately.

Front: = 102-114-126 sts. Staying in Pattern, continue to shape armholes every other row: bind off 3 sts 0-1-1 time, 2 sts 2-4-5 times and 1 st 5-4-5 times = 84-84-90 sts. After Pattern 2 is complete, knit the rest with red. When the piece measures 48-50-52 cm [18-7/8" - 19.75" - 20.5"] bind off the center 18-20-20 sts for the neck. Continue shaping the neck every other row: bind off 3 sts 1-1-1 time, 2 sts 2-2-2 times and 1 st 3-3-3 times = 23-22-25 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off all sts when the piece measures 54-56-58 cm [21.25" - 22" - 22-7/8"].

Back: = 102-114-126 sts. Staying in Pattern, shape armholes as on front = 84-84-90 sts. When the piece measures 52-54-56 cm [20.5" - 21.25" - 22"] bind off the center 32-34-34 sts for the neck. Continue shaping the neck every other row: bind off 2 sts 1-1-1 time, 1 st 1-1-1 time = 23-22-25 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off all sts when the piece measures 54-56-58 cm [21.25" - 22" - 22 7/8"].

Sleeve: Cast on 54-54-60 sts on smaller double-pointed needles with red; join and place a marker at the join. Knit border (see instructions above). Change to larger double pointed needles and knit Pattern 1 one time. At the same time, when the piece measures 8-8-8- cm [3-1/8"] inc 1 st at each side of marker 17-19-16 times every 7-6-7 rows = 88-92-92 sts. After Pattern 1 continue with rust until sleeve measures 38-37-34 cm [14-7/8" - 14.5" - 13-3/8"], then knit Pattern 2 one time, then continue in stockinette st with red.
When the piece measures 49-48-46 cm [19.25" - 18-7/8" - 18-1/8"] bind off 3 sts each side of marker and knit back and forth on needles. Shape sleeve cap at each side every other row: bind off 3 sts 1-1-1 time, 2 sts 4-3-2 times, 1 st 4-9-14 times, 2 sts 4-3-2 times and 3 sts 1-1-1 time. Bind off remaining sts, the piece measures approx. 58-59-59 cm [22 7/8" - 23.25" - 23.25"].

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 95 - 104 sts around the neck on smaller double-pointed needles with red. knit border (see instructions above), bind off loosely. Sew in sleeves. Fold all borders to the wrong side and stitch down.
