Crochet gauge:
6 repeats of Pattern 2 in width / 18 sc of Pattern 1 x 10 repeats in height = 10 x 10 cm [4» x 4»]
1 repeat of Pattern 2 in width / 3 sc of Pattern 1 = 1.67 cm [2/3"].

Pattern: See chart. The pattern is shown from the right side. Turn the work after each row. The pattern is divisible by 3 sts + 2 sts.

= chain stitch (ch)
= single crochet (sc)
= double crochet (dc)

Pattern 2 = 4 rows
Pattern 1 = 3 rows

BACK
Chain 89 (95). Work 2 rows sc (Pattern 1).
Then work Pattern 2 (= 30 (32) repeats including the outermost repeat on each side).
When the work measures 31 (32) cm, work over 4 fewer repeats on each side (for armhole shaping) = 22 (24) repeats including the outermost repeat on each side.
When the work measures approx. 54 (56) cm, work the last row as follows: 6 (7) repeats, cut the yarn and skip the center 10 repeats (for neck shaping), crochet the last 6 (7) repeats.
The work measures approx. 55 (57) cm.

RIGHT FRONT
Chain 44 (47). Work 2 rows sc (Pattern 1).
Then work Pattern 2 (= 15 (16) repeats including the outermost repeat on each side).
When the work measures 31 (32) cm, work over 4 repeats fewer on the right side (for armhole shaping) = 11 (12) repeats including the outermost repeats on each side.
When the work measures 42 (44) cm (13 rows less than back) shape neck as follows (if necessary, cut the yarn and start from the side edge when the neck shaping is at the beginning of the row:
1st row: work over 2 repeats fewer at the neck edge
2nd, 3rd and 4th rows: work over 1 repeat fewer at the neck edge
= 6 (7) repeats remaining.
Work even until piece measures approx. 55 (57) cm.

LEFT FRONT
Crochet like the right front, reversing all shaping.

SLEEVES
Chain 38 (41). Work 2 rows sc (Pattern 1).
Then crochet Pattern 2 (= 13 (14) repeats including the outermost repeat on each side).
When the work measures 5 (5) cm, inc 1 repeat on each side every 5th row 8 times = 29 (30) repeats - inc as follows:
Beginning of the row: After the turning ch 4, crochet in the chain sts between the last two dc on the previous row: 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, then continue with the first dc which is drawn on the chart in the same chain stitch.
End of the row: After the last dc continue crocheting in the same stitch: ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, then ch 4, turn the work. Then work according to the chart with the first dc down in the slip stitch between the 1st and 2nd dc.
When the work measures 46 (46) cm, attach a marker on each side and then work a further 7 rows. On the 3 next rows work over 4 repeats fewer on each side on every row.
The work measures approx. 56 (56) cm.

ASSEMBLY
Sew shoulder seams and side seams. Crochet 5 rows with approx. 70-75 sc along the right front. Repeat along the left front but on the 2nd row make 7 buttonholes evenly distributed by working 3 chain sts instead of 3 sc. Crochet 3 rows with approx. 95-105 sc around the neck (also crochet over the buttonband).
Sew on the sleeve seams and buttons.
