Knitting tension: 21 sts x 26 rows on needle size 4 mm in stocking sts = 10 x 10cm
Rib: * K1, P1 *
Edge: Knit 2.5 cm stocking sts, P1 round, 2.5 cm stocking sts.
Pattern: Diagrams are seen from RS. English Translations for wording in diagrams are given at the bottom of pattern and they are given in the vertical order in which they appear in the diagram.

Body: Figures in () = Gent size. Cast on 184-190-196 (196-204) sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm with grey and knit 5 cm rib as follows: 1 row grey, 2 rows off white, 1 row grey and complete with off white. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and M.1 at the same time inc with 56-62-68 (56-60) sts evenly on 1st row = 240-252-264 (252-264) sts. When piece measures 30-31-32 (35-37) cm split piece in two for armhole and complete front and back pieces separately. Remember knitting tension.

Front piece: = 120-126-132 (126-132) sts. When piece measures 36-37-38 (41-43) cm continue knitting in grey (adjust to M.1). If sewn on homespun material is required on yoke knit 1 cm stocking sts for seam and then cast off. Now knit 1 round stocking sts at the same time inc 12 sts evely on row (as compensation for contraction on cables). Then knit next row as follows: 6 (9) sts stocking sts, M.2, 14 sts stocking sts, M.2, stocking sts until 40 (43) sts are left, M.2, 14 sts stocking sts, M.2, 6 (9) sts stocking sts. When piece measures 43-44-45 (48-50) cm cast off middle 6 sts for front band and each side is completed separately. Left hand side: When piece measures 56-57-58 (61-63) cm cast off to shape neckline 17 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, 1 sts 1 time. Cast off when piece measures 60-61-62 (65-67) cm. Right hand side: Knit like left hand side.

Back piece: = 120-126-132 (126-132) sts. Knit like front piece. When piece measures 58-59-60 (63-65) cm cast off 46-46-46 (46-46) sts for neck. Continuing cast off 2 sts towards neck on each side. Cast off when piece measures 60-61-62 (65-67) cm
Sleeve: Cast on 48-48-50 (50-50) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with grey and knit 5 cm Rib like on body. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm and M.1. (place one pattern repeat mid sleeve) at the same time inc 12-14-12 (12-12) sts evenly on 1st row = 60-62-62 (62-62) sts. Continuing inc mid under arm on each side of middle sts 1 sts 32-32-32 (32-32) sts Lady S + Gent: Alternating *every 3rd and 4th round and Lady size M+L: on every 3rd row = 124-126-126 (126-126) sts. Cast off when piece measures 50-49-49 (54-54) cm (adjust to pattern).

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Right front band: Pick up approx 22 sts along right side on needle size 2.5 mm with grey and knit Edge. Double neckline towards WS and sew. Left front band: Knit like right piece. Leave right front band over left and sew on mid front. Pick up approx 106 sts with grey on needle size 2.5 mm around neckline and knit Edge back and forth on row. Double edge towards WS and sew. Sew sleeves onto body in outermost sts so seams are not too bulky. Sew in claps’.

English translation for the diagram:
= K, grey
= P, grey
= off white
= slip 3 sts on cable needle to front of piece, K 3 sts, K 3 sts from cable needle
