COLOUR CHANGE:
See Fig.1. Beg with the bottom square.
WHOLE DOMINO SQUARE:
Insert a marker in the middle st, and continue as follows:
Row 1 (= WS): K all sts.
Row 2 (= RS): K all sts until 1 st before marker, slip 1 st as if to K, K2 tog, psso, K remaining sts on row.
Repeat row 1 and 2, i.e. dec 2 sts in the middle of square on every other row, until 1 st remain on needle, cut the thread and pull through remaining st.
HALF DOMINO SQUARE (right side):
Insert a marker in the first st on needle from RS (= st towards the side). Continue as follows:
Row 1 (= WS): K all sts.
Row 2 (= RS): K2 tog, K remaining sts on row.
Repeat row 1 and 2, i.e. dec 1 st at the side of square on every other row until 1 st remain on needle, cut the thread and pull through remaining st.
HALF DOMINO SQUARE (left side):
Insert a marker in the last st on needle from RS (= st towards the side). Continue as follows:
Row 1 (= WS): K all sts.
Row 2 (= RS): K all sts until 2 sts remain on needle, K2 tog.
Repeat row 1 and 2, i.e. dec 1 st at the side of square on every other row until 1 st remain on needle, cut the thread and pull through remaining st.

SCARF:
Worked in garter st throughout, i.e. K all rows. See Fig.1 for colour changes.
Cast on 89 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with colour 542. Work 1 WHOLE DOMINO SQUARE – see above.
* Now pick up 45 sts from RS along the right side of square at the top. Work 1 HALF DOMINO SQUARE (right side) – see above. Pick up 45 sts from RS along the left side of square at the top. Work HALF DOMINO SQUARE (left side) – see above. When the half squares are completed pick up 44 sts from RS along the right square, 1 st between the 2 half squares and 44 sts from RS along the left square = 89 sts. Work 1 WHOLE DOMINO SQUARE *. Repeat from *-* until there are a total of 6 whole domino squares. Cut and fasten thread.
