GARTER ST (in the round): K 1 round, P 1 round.

PLEATS: See diagram M.1. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS.

TUNIC:
Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 180-195-210-225-255-285 sts on circular needle size 5.5 mm with Lin. Work 4 rounds garter st – SEE ABOVE – and continue in stocking st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 51-52-53-54-55-55 cm work PLEATS - see above - on next round as follows: * 5 stocking sts, M.1 *, repeat from *-* a total of 12-13-14-15-17-19 times = 120-130-140-150-170-190 sts. Change to circular needle size 3 mm and work 6 rounds garter st, AT THE SAME TIME inc 48-50-56-66-74-78 sts evenly on first round = 168-180-196-216-244-268 sts. Insert 2 markers in piece, 1 at beg of round and 1 after 84-90-98-108-122-134 sts (to mark the sides). Continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st on each side of both markers (= 4 inc per round) and repeat the inc on every 3 cm a total of 3-3-3-4-4-4 times = 180-192-208-232-260-284 sts. When piece measures 62-64-66-68-70-71 cm cast off 3 sts on each side of both markers for armhole and complete each side separately.

BACK PIECE: = 84-90-98-110-124-136 sts.
Continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME cast off for armhole each side at the beg of every row: 2 sts 1-1-2-4-6-8 times and 1 st 0-2-3-4-6-7 times = 80-82-84-86-88-90 sts. When piece measures 81-84-87-90-93-95 cm cast off the middle 30-32-34-36-38-40 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off 1 st on neckline on next row = 24-24-24-24-24-24 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 83-86-89-92-95-97 cm.

FRONT PIECE: = 84-90-98-110-124-136 sts.
Continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME cast off for armhole each side as described for back piece. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 63-66-69-71-74-76 cm cast off the middle 12-14-16-18-20-22 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off to shape the neckline at the beg of every row from mid front: 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 4 times. After all dec are complete there are 24-24-24-24-24-24 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 83-86-89-92-95-97 cm.

ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams.

CROCHET BORDER:
Crochet a border round neckline and armholes with crochet hook size 3 mm and 2 threads Lin as follows: 1 dc, * 2 ch, skip approx 1 cm, 1 dc *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in first dc.
