Heel decrease:
Work stocking st on heel sts at the same time as slipping 1 st at the end of every row on a thread or stitch holder. Continue like this until there are 4-5-6 sts on the thread or stitch holder on both sides of heel = 4-4-6 sts left on needle. Insert 1 marking thread or stitch marker. Continue in stocking st but at the end of every row work 1 st from the thread or stitch holder back on needle. NB! To avoid holes pick up 1 st between needle and thread. On next row knit the 2 new sts tog. Continue like this until there are 12-14-18 sts on needle again. Knit 1 row on all sts.
Knitting tips: When all sts have been put back on needle after the heel a small hole may appear in the transition due to the pattern. Sew this hole with a small stitch.

Socks: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 30-30-40 sts on needle size 8 mm with Eskimo. K 1 round. Work next round as follows: K4 sts, *slip 1 st as if to knit, K2 tog, psso, K7 sts*, repeat from *-* 2-2-3 times and finish with slip 1 st as if to knit, K2 tog, psso, K3 sts = 24-24-32 sts. K1 round.
Continue in M.1. Work 1 vertical repeat of M.1 and continue in M.2 (see Diagram for your size). When piece measures approx 13-15-17 cm (adjust so next round in diagram = 1 round garter st) keep the first 6-7-9 sts on needle, slip the next 12-10-14 sts on a thread or stitch holder (= mid upper foot) and keep the last 6-7-9 sts on needle = 12-14-18 sts for heel.
Work heel sts in stocking st, at the same time dec for heel – see Heel decrease.
After heel decrease slip sts from thread or stitch holder back on needle = 24-24-32 sts. Work pattern as before on all sts – read Knitting tips.
When piece measures 17-19-21 cm from marking thread or stitch marker on heel insert 1 marking thread or stitch marker each side with 12-12-16 sts on upper foot and 12-12-16 sts under foot. Continue in stocking st on all sts at the same time dec for toe on each side of both marking threads or stitch markers. Dec as follows before K1 and marking thread or stitch marker: K 2 tog. Dec as follows after marking thread or stitch marker and K1: K 2 tog into back of st. Dec each side on every other round 3-3-4 times and then 1 time on every round = 8-8-12 sts left on needle. Work all sts tog 2 by 2 on next round. Cut thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten.
