We are now sending the new fall/winter catalogs to our DROPS dealers. They are printed in a limited edition and and each catalog costs only 1£/$2 over the counter and 2£/$4 by mail order. DROPS fall/winter 09/10 collection is very varied. From fine to heavy, garments with texture and patterned. Jackets, sweaters, ponchos, shawls and lots of accessories. The designs are chosen on the basis of an overall assessment, where voting results and accompanying comments have been important.

Knitting tip: Use double or single thread. All numbers without ( ) refer to double thread, all numbers in ( ) refer to single thread.

Garter st, in the round: K1 round, P 1 round.

Increasing tip-1: Inc 1 st by working 2 sts in outermost st.

Increasing tip-2: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO. Work YO into back of loop on return row to avoid a hole.

Pattern: See diagram M.1 and M.2 (M.3 and M.4). The diagram shows the pattern from the RS.

Top:
Knitted from top down. Beg with back piece, then work front piece, slip both pieces on the same circular needle and work lower body part and lace border.

Back piece:
Worked back and forth on needle.
Left shoulder:
Loosely cast on 11-11-11-12-12-13 (13-13-13-14-15-16) sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4 (3) mm [US 6 (US 2or3)] with double (single) thread Alpaca. Work stockinette st until piece measures 0.6”-0.6”-0.6”-0.9”-0.9”-0.9”. On next row (from WS) inc 1 st towards neckline = 12-12-12-13-13-14 (14-14-14-15-16-17) sts. Slip sts on a thread.
Right shoulder:
Work like left shoulder, but mirrored, and without slipping sts on thread.
On next row (from RS) cast on 38-40-42-44-46-48 (48-50-52-56-58-60) sts for neckline and slip sts from thread back on needle = 62-64-66-70-72-76 (76-78-80-86-90-94) sts. Piece now measures 0.75”- 0.75”- 0.75”-1.1”- 1.1”- 1.1”.
Back piece: Work stockinette st until piece measures 5.1”-4.7”-4.4”-4.7”-4.7”-4” (5.3”-5.1”-5.1”-5.1”-4.9”-4.7”). Now inc for armhole by casting on new sts at the end of every row – see Increasing tip-1: 1 st 3-5-6-5-4-7 (3-4-4-5-5-6) times and 2 sts 1-1-2-4-6-6 (2-3-5-6-8-10) times. Cast on 3 sts each side = 78-84-92-102-110-120 (96-104-114-126-138-152) sts. Piece now measures approx 6.7”-7”-7½”-8”-8.2”-8.7”. Continue in stockinette st until piece measures 11.7”-12½”-13.4”-14.2”-15”-15.7”. Bind off 1 st edge each side and slip the remaining 76-82-90-100-108-118 (94-102-112-124-136-150) sts on a thread.

Front piece:
Left shoulder:
Loosely cast on 11-11-12-12-13 (13-13-13-14-15-16) sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4 (3) mm [US 6 (US 2or3)] with double (single) thread Alpaca. Work stockinette st until piece measures 4”-3½”-4”-4”-4.4”-4” (4.75” for all sizes) and now inc by casting on new sts for neckline on every other row – see Increasing tip-1: 1 st 5-6-6-5-5-6 (4-5-5-5-5-6) times and 2 sts 2-2-2-3-3-3 (3-3-3-4-4-4) times. At the same time when piece measures 5.1”-4.7”-4.4”-4.7”-4.7”-4” (5.3”-5.1”-5.1”-5.1”-4.9”-4.7”) inc for armhole as described for back piece.
Note! After the last inc for neckline slip sts on a thread (adjust so that last row is worked from WS).
Right shoulder:
Work like left shoulder, but mirrored. At the same time, after the last inc for neckline cast on 22-22-24-24-26-26 (30-30-32-32-34-34) sts for neckline and slip sts from thread back on needle.
Front piece: Work stockinette st and inc for armhole as described for back piece. After all inc for neckline and armhole are complete = 78-84-92-102-110-120 (96-104-114-126-138-152) sts on needle. Piece now measures approx 6.7”-7”-7½”-8”-8.2”-8.7”. Continue in stockinette st until piece measures 11.7”-12½”-13.4”-14.2”-15”-15.7”. Bind off 1 edge st each side = 76-82-90-100-108-118 (94-102-112-124-136-150) sts left. Leave sts on needle.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seam inside 1 edge st before slipping all sts on circular needle.
Lower part and lace border: Worked in the round on circular needle. Slip sts from back piece and front piece on the same circular needle size 3.5 (2.5) mm [US 4 (US 1)] = 152-164-180-200-216-236 (188-204-224-248-272-300) sts. Work 4 rounds garter st – see above, at the same time inc 0-4-4-4-8-12 (12-16-16-16-16-20) sts on first round = 152-168-184-204-224-248 (200-220-240-264-288-320) sts. Continue in Rib, K2/P2. When piece measures 19”-19.7”-21”-22”-22.7”-23.6” inc all P2 to P3 – see Increasing tip-2 = 190-210-230-255-280-310 (250-275-300-330-360-400) sts. Work 0.4” Rib with K2/P3. On next round inc all K2 to K3 – see Increasing tip 2 = 228-252-276-306-336-372 (300-330-360-396-432-480) sts. Continue in Rib, K3/P3, until piece measures 21.2”-22”-23.2”-24.4”-25.2”-26”. On next round work M.1 (M.3) on all sts. Now work 1 round Rib, K5/P5 (K6/P6). On next round work M.2 (M.4) on all sts and then work 1 round in Rib, K9/P9 (K12/P12). Bind off loosely in Rib. Piece measures approx 22”-22.7”-24”-25.2”-26”-26.7”.

Neckline: Pick up 120 to 152 (168 to 192) sts – divisible by 6 - round neckline on small circular needle size 3.5 (2.5) mm [US 4 (2or3)] with double (single) thread Alpaca.
P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round. Continue in Rib, K3/P3, until border measures approx 0.75”. On next round work M.1 (M.3) on all sts. Now work 1 round Rib, K5/P5 (K6/P6). On next round work M.2 (M.4) on all sts and then work 1 round in Rib, K9/P9 (K12/P12). Bind off loosely in Rib.

Armholes: Pick up 69-71-77-79-85-87 (91-97-101-107-111-117) sts inside 1 edge st round the armhole on small circular needle size 3.5 (2.5) mm [US 4 (2or3)] with double (single) thread Alpaca. Beg mid under arm. Work 4 rounds garter st. On next round bind off the first 9-10-10-11-11-12 (14-14-16-16-18-18) sts. Turn the piece and now continue back and forth on needle. Bind off the first 9-10-10-11-11-12 (14-14-16-16-18-18) sts and K the remaining 51-51-57-57-63-63 (63-69-69-75-75-81) sts. On next row work M.1 (M.3) on all sts. Now work 1 round Rib, K5/P5 (K6/P6). On next round work M.2 (M.4) on all sts and then work 1 round in Rib, K9/P9 (K12/P12). Bind off loosely in Rib.
