Crochet tension: 12 htr with 2 threads = 10 cm
Crochet info: Substitute first htr at beginning of row with 2 ch.
1 Half treble crochet (htr): YO around crochet hook, put crochet hook through sts under and gather thread. YO around crochet hook and pull through 3 sts on hook.
Decreasing tip: Dec at beg and end of each row by crocheting 2 htr tog to 1 as follows:
Crochet 1 htr, but wait pulling through (= 3 sts on crochet hook), then crochet next htr but when last pull through is made, pull yarn through all sts on crochet hook – now 1 htr sts is decreased.

Hat: Crochet hat from top down.
1st round: Crochet 3 ch with crochet hook size 6 mm and 1 thread of each colour (= 2 threads ) Silke-Alpaca, crochet 9 htr in 1st ch = 10 htr.
2nd round: Read Crochet tip! 2 htr on each htr = 20 htr.
3rd round: * 1 htr in first htr, 2 htr in next htr * repeat from *-* = 30 htr.
4th round: * 1 htr in each of first 2 htr, 2 htr in next htr * repeat from *-* = 40 htr.
5th round: * 1 htr in each of first 3 htr, 2 htr in next htr * repeat from *-* = 50 htr.
6th round: Crochet 1 htr on each htr but inc 5 htr evenly = 55 htr. (For size L repeat 6th round = 60 htr). Continue to crochet 1 htr in each htr until piece measures approx 18-20 cm.

Ear flaps: Start crocheting approx 5 cm from mid back. Crochet on crochet hook size 6 mm with 1 thread of each colour (= 2 threads) 12 htr along bottom edge of hat. Then crochet back and forth at the same time as dec 1 htr at beginning and end of each row – read Decreasing tips. Repeat decrease until 6 htr are left. Now 4 rows has been crochet in total. Repeat on other side.
Edge: Crochet on hook size 6 mm with 2 threads orange around hat at bottom edge and around ear flaps as follows: Start in seam mid back, 1 dc in sts. Continue to crochet 1 dc in each sts, but crochet 2 dc in outermost corner on ear flaps, finish with 1 sl st in 1st sl st at beg of round. Crochet round with 1 dc in each dc. Cut thread and sew.
