We are now sending the new fall/winter catalogs to our DROPS dealers. They are printed in a limited edition and and each catalog costs only 1£/$2 over the counter and 2£/$4 by mail order. DROPS fall/winter 09/10 collection is very varied. From fine to heavy, garments with texture and patterned. Jackets, sweaters, ponchos, shawls and lots of accessories. The designs are chosen on the basis of an overall assessment, where voting results and accompanying comments have been important.

Note: This pattern is written in British English.
All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inch - click here.
There are different terms for crocheting in British and American English.

Knitting tension: 17 sts x 22 rows in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm. 1 repeat of the length of M.2 measures approx. 10 cm in the width and 7 cm in the length.

Garter sts: Knit back and forth on all rows.

Pattern: See diagram M .1 and M.2. The diagrams are shown from the RS and shows 1 repeat.



Dress: The dress is knitted round on circular needles beg. from the bottom and work upwards. Cast on 171-190-209-228-247 sts loosely on circular needles size 5 mm with Alaska.
Knit according to M.1, continue with M.2 until the work measures approx. 45-50-50-55-55 cm – adjust so you finish at the arrow in the diagram.
Change to circular needle size 4 mm
Knit the next row as follows: * K1, K2 tog., P2, K1 , K2 tog, P2, K2 , P2 , K1 , K2 tog., P2 *, repeat from *-* = 144-160-176-192-208 sts. Now continue in Rib = K2 / P2 for 20 cm. Cast off with K over K and P over P. The dress measures approx. 65-70-70-75-75 cm.
Shoulder straps: Cast on 14 sts on pointed needles size 4mm with Alaska. Knit as follows: 2 garter sts, K2, P2, K2, P2, K2 and 2 garter sts. Knit until the strap measures approx. 38-40-42-44-46 cm. Then cast off for 2 button holes as follows: 2 garter sts, K2 tog, make a yo, P2, K2, P2, make a yo, K2 twisted tog. ( i.e. knit into back part of sts instead of front part) and 2 garter sts. Then knit 2 rows with K over K and P over P and cast off. Make another strap.
Sew the straps tight to the back part of the dress approx. 30-33-36-40-43 cm apart. Sew on 2 buttons each side of the front of the dress to button up the straps.
