Tension: 17 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm on needle sixe 5 mm and stockinette sts. Remember needle size is only recommended!
Felting: Felt the bag in washing machine on regular wash. Sometimes there is a big difference between washing machines so there is a good idea to do some testing when it comes to temperature. We washed on 40 C. If the bag doesn’t felt enough the first time, wash it again on higher temperature. NOTE! The looser you knit, the more will the piece shrink.
Bag: Cast on 60 sts on needle size 4,5 mm and K2 rows. Change to needles size 5 mm and continue with stocking sts until work measures approx 85 cm. Change to needle size 4,5 mm again and K2 rows. Cast off.
Assembly: Fold bag double and sew side seams in outermost sts.
Handle: Make two plaits of approx 60-80 cm of 18 threads, i.e. 6 threads in each part. Fasten/sew plaits on each side of bag, within approx 7 cm on each side. Felt the bag in washing machine - see explanation above.
Flower: Cut 4 flowers in black leather - the largest with diameter of approx 13 cm and the smallest with diam of approx 8 cm. If you have, use "zic-zac"- scissors. Put the 4 flowers on top of eachother - the largest farthest in, og sew on the whole flower at bottom left corner on bag.
Sew a wood bead in the middle of flower. Cut 4 small half cirles in black leather with diam approx 4 cm and sew them on to strengthen the handles.
