CROCHET TIP: Replace first tr on round with 3 ch. Finish each round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.

CHRISTMAS RUG (diameter 70 cm):
Crochet 4 ch with crochet hook size 7 mm and Eskimo and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 9 dc in ring, finish with 1 sl in first dc.
ROUND 2: SEE CROCHET TIP! 2 tr in each dc = 18 tr.
ROUND 3: * 1 tr in each of the first 3 tr, 2 ch *, repeat from *-* = 6 ch-loops.
ROUND 4: * 2 tr in first tr, 1 tr in next tr, 2 tr in next tr, 2 ch, skip 2 ch *, repeat from *-*.

ROUND 19: 3 ch, 1 dc in first ch-loop, * 6 ch, 1 dc in next ch-loop *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 6 ch and 1 sl st in first dc.
ROUND 20: 3 ch, 1 dc in first ch-loop, * 7 ch, 1 dc in next ch-loop *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 7 ch and 1 sl st in first dc.
ROUND 21: Crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 3 dc, 1 picot (= 3 ch, 1 dc in the first of these ch) and 3 dc.
Cut and fasten thread.

LARGER RUG: Continue inc in the same way after Round 11 until you reach desired size. When working the points of the leaves (from Round 12) crochet tr on the number of tr in each leaf, in addition to the first and last tr on each leaf, where you work 1 sl st. Continue working tr on 2 less tr per round until there are 3 tr left on each leaf, and now continue with Round 18, Round 19 etc.
