Garter st, back and forth on needle: K all rows.
Rib: *K1, P1*, repeat from *-*.
Decreasing tip (applies to neckline):
Make all dec from RS inside 6 front band sts, worked as follows: 2 garter sts, K1, P1, K1, P1.
Dec as follows after 6 front band sts: slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso
Dec as follows before 6 front band sts: K2 tog.
Pattern: See diagram M.1 The diagram is seen from the RS. English translations for the wording in diagrams are given at the bottom of this pattern and they are given in the vertical order in which they appear in the diagram.

Back piece: Cast on 61-67-73-83-91 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on 2 needle size 6 mm (to make the edge elastic). Remove 1 needle and P 1 row from WS. Now work 4 rows Rib with P1 and 1 edge st each side. After the Rib continue in stocking st. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 3 cm work next row as follows from RS: 1 edge st, 0-3-2-3-3 stocking sts, M.1A (= 5 sts), M.1B on the next 48-48-56-64-72 sts, M.1C (= 6 sts), 0-3-2-3-3 stocking sts, 1 edge st. Continue in pattern like this until piece measures 34-35-36-37-38 cm – adjust to pattern – and now complete piece in stocking st. At the same time when piece measures 9-9-9-13-13 cm inc 1 st each side on every 9-9-9-13-13 cm a total of 3-3-3-2-2 times = 67-73-79-87-95 sts – work inc sts in stocking st. When piece measures 35-36-37-38-39 cm cast off for armhole each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1-1-2-3-4 times and 1 st 1-3-3-5-7 times = 55-57-59-59-59 sts. When piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm work 4 rows Rib on the centre 23-23-25-25-25 sts – beg and finish Rib with P1 – work remaining sts as before. On next row cast off the middle 11-11-13-13-13 sts for neck (cast off in Rib). Dec to shape the neckline on every other row – see Decreasing tip: 1 st 2 times = 20-21-21-21-21 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off, piece measures approx 54-56-58-60-62 cm.

Right front piece: Cast on 36-40-44-48-52 sts (includes 1 edge st at side and 6 front band sts towards mid front) on 2 needle size 6 mm. Remove 1 needle and P 1 row from WS. Work 4 rows Rib from mid front as follows: 2 garter sts, *K1, P1*, repeat from *-* and finish row with K1 and 1 edge st. Continue in stocking st with 6 front band sts worked as before.
Now read all of the following section before continuing!
Pattern: When piece measures 3 cm work next row as follows from mid front (from RS): 2 garter sts, K1, P1, K1, P1 (= front band), 2-3-0-3-0 stocking sts, M.1A (= 5 sts), M.1B on the next 16-16-24-24-32 sts, M.1C (= 6 sts), 0-3-2-3-2 stocking sts, 1 edge st. Continue in pattern like this until piece measures 34-35-36-37-38 cm – adjust to back piece – and now complete piece in stocking st.
Inc at side: At the same time when piece measures 9-9-9-13-13 cm inc at the side as described for back piece.
Neckline: At the same time when piece measures 28-29-30-31-32 cm cast off to shape the neckline towards mid front on every other row – see Decreasing tip: 1 st 3-4-6-3-2 times and then on every 4th row 1 st 10-10-10-12-13 times. NB! Knit sts not fitting into in M.1 after dec in stocking sts.
Armhole: At the same time when piece measures 35-36-37-38-39 cm cast off for armhole as described for back piece.
After all inc and dec are complete there are 20-21-21-21-21 sts left on shoulder. Continue in stocking st with the 6 front band sts as before. Cast off when piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm.

Left front piece: Like right front piece, but mirrored.

Sleeve: Cast on 39-39-41-41-45 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on 2 needle size 6 mm. Remove 1 needle and work 4 rows garter st. Continue in stocking st. When piece measures 12 cm work next row as follows from RS: 1 edge st, 1-1-2-2-0 stocking sts, M.1A (= 5 sts), M.1B on the next 24-24-24-24-32 sts, M.1C (= 6 sts), 1-1-2-2-0 stocking sts, 1 edge st. Continue in pattern like this until piece measures approx 40 cm – adjust to pattern - and then complete piece in stocking st. At the same time when piece measures 14-14-14-14-12 cm inc 1 st each side on every 5.5-4-3.5-3-3 cm a total of 7-9-10-11-11 times (work inc sts in stocking st) = 53-57-61-63-67 sts. When piece measures 49-49-48-46-45 cm (less on the larger sizes because of larger sleeve cap) cast off to shape the sleeve cap each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-2-2-3-4 times, 1 st 1-2-3-5-6 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 55-56-56-57-58 cm. Now cast off 3 sts each side 1 time and cast off remaining sts on next row. Sleeve measures approx 56-57-57-58-59 cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams inside 1 edge st.
Crochet border: Crochet a border round sleeve edges, along both front pieces and round neckline on crochet hook size 6 mm as follows: 1 dc in first st, *3 ch, skip approx 2.5 cm, 1 dc in next st*, repeat from *-*. Sew on buttons and use crochet border as buttonholes.
