I am an experienced sock knitter but not at stranding as needed in this pattern. I have now knitted the sock twice only to find that the sheep will not stretch in order to get the sock over my heel. First time I stranded the yarn over 2 or 3 stitches and the second time I knitted it I carried the yarns around every stitch. I am using Drops yarn and 2.5 dpns . Please can you help ? I love the pattern.
09.03.2021 kl. 16:38:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Miriam, You will have to be very careful not to pull the strands. If pulling is a problem, you might try to knit the patterned rows with a larger needle. You can also try to knit a larger size for the leg, and decrease the stitches before you knit the heels. Happy Knitting!

I need 72 stitches for the cuff of my sock, but can decrease to 68 stitches for the heel. I normally do not do a design in my socks, and can make the adjustments needed for than. However, what do I do to make the charted design fit what I need, please?
21.09.2020 kl. 18:30:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Tami, we unfortunately are not able to adjust every pattern to every single request, please contact your DROPS store to get any individual assistance to adapt to your own yarn/size. Thanks for your comprehension. Happy knitting!

Hello, potentially a silly question, but what does 'work A.2 over A.1' mean? Do I just follow on with A.2 after I've worked A.1? Thanks!
16.04.2020 kl. 23:13:DROPS Design answered:
Hi Rachel, Yes, A.2 fits exactly over A.1 as you say, so A.2 follows on from A.1 when it has been completed. Happy knitting!

I can't find where to start A.2 anywhere in the pattern. It says work A. 1 and then continue the rest of the sock in green.
05.04.2019 kl. 00:27:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Katherine, this pattern has been edited with larger diagram (there was previously only A.1 that has been now splitted into A.1 and A.2), it when you have worked A.1 vertically, work nonw A.2 over A.1 and continue with apple green. Happy knitting!

Trying to get the gauge started with recommended 2.5 mm. Way too small. Increase to 3.75 still only getting 9cm to 26 stitches on the width. Which I know is more critical than vertical depth. When does it get to the needles being too big. Going to start with 4mm but concerned that it will be very open and not good in socks.
03.03.2019 kl. 12:33:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Strange, most important is always to get the correct tension in width, but depending on how tight/loose you work you may have to adjust the needle size. Did you work your swatch in the round? Sometimes tension is different worked in rows or in the round. Happy knitting!

Dear Mrs Hannam, we will split the diagram to enlarge it, thanks for your feedback. Happy Knitting!

Dag A.m.

Buon lavoro!

Where I am to increase from 56 stitches to 58 stitches, what do I do with the extra two stitches? There are only repeats of 8 stitches throughout the pattern, but I want the heel to work. Please help.
18.05.2017 kl. 06:26:DROPS Design answered:
Hi Mary, After you have completed A.1, you work a round with apple green, where you increase from 56 to 58 stitches. Then carry on with the text and work the heel. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Deirdre

17.03.2017 kl. 13:36:DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Frau Klein, damit die Socken passen, soll Ihre Maschenprobe stimmen, dh 26 M x 34 R glatt re = 10 x 10 cm. Versuchen Sie verschiedene Größe bis Sie diese Maschenprobe erhalten. Viel Spaß beim stricken!
