Hi, one more ? So when the k2 p2 section measures 4 cm for example I can do the decreases in the garter section. Correct?

Hi Sharon, yes. Just remember that you should dec after completing 3 purl rounds in garter st pattern (measurements are approximate). Happy knitting!

Hi! Where do I measure for length? The rib section is longer than the garter stitch section

Hi Sharon, measure along the rib section - this will give you an idea of the lowest point. Happy knitting!

Hi, yes am using drops snow and usually I have to go up a needle size . I did get 11 stitches per inch on a size 10. will one stitch make any difference,
18.01.2024 kl. 09:11:DROPS Design answered:
Hi Sharon, yes, unfortunately it will. Use the needle that gives you the proper stitchcount, even if it is different what the pattern states (as everyone's knitting style is difeernt, thus everyone's gauge can differ, the given needle sizes are only suggestions.)

Hello drops team, I am up to size 12 needles and still not getting gauge. Not sure what am doing wrong Is this gauge relaxed or is it stretched?

Dear Mrs Hunt, are you working with DROPS Snow or any other bulky yarn same group? Then you should get the correct tension, change needle size if needed. Happy knitting!

Hi Dropsđ as you can see I have made this set before, but I was not happy with neither the hat or the wrap. Must admit I did not do a gauge swatch. Am going to be knitting this again and would like some advice on how to swatch fog this set. There is a very heavily, lovely textured pattern and not easy to count for gauge. Any advice?
07.01.2024 kl. 12:28:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sharon, in this model, the gauge is very important so that it will shape nicely. You need to work the swatch in the GARTER ST PATTERN. You work the gauge as indicated (10 sts and 14 rows = 10x10cm, with 9mm needles). If you are having trouble with the gauge, you can also try to work the gauge in the round (as you will work the piece) and adjust as necessary. Then, as you work, you can use a rule of three to check that the pattern continues in the correct gauge. You can measure it on the knitted sections, which should be easier than the purl sections. Happy knitting!

Thanks so much I had to use a knitting app to figure this out. I am almost finished and have one ball of yarn. Its difficult to measure for correct length. How would you suggest I measure for length. One option maybe would be to block and continue from there. I would like to use up all the yarn called for in the project without it bring too long. Thanks for all you guys do for the knitting community.

Hi again, I am having problem with the decreases. When I decrease in the garter stich section the number of sts. after det decreases ate not correct ehich would mean I would not have the correct amount og stitches at the end which is 68 I think. Thanks for your help.
21.02.2023 kl. 14:08:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sharon, you decrease 6 sts in each of the garter stitch section, this means 12 sts on each decrease round = there are 104 stitches after 1st decrease round. You repeat these decreases 3 more times - there will be 12 sts left in each garter stitch section and a total of: 104 sts - (12 sts decrease x 3 times) = 68 sts remain. Happy knitting!

Hei! I asked about the garter stitch pattern . Itâs not a problem. Am supposed to decrease 6 stitches in each section, but am having problems with this. I just did the first section and I have extra stitches. Am afraid if i continue to work the decreases i wonât get the correct number sts. at the end. So i need some help with this. Thanks
21.02.2023 kl. 11:47:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Hunt, sorry for having misunderstood your question. You should work the garter stitch pattern over the 36 stitches on the sides of the shoulder warmer, you decrease after the 3 rounds with purled stitches = on a round where you will knit all stitches and decrease 6 sts over these 36 sts so that there should be 30 sts in each garter stitch section after first decrease. Can this help?

Hi! Just started this pattern from looking at the pattern it seems like there are 3 rows knit over the purl stitches. However, I donât see this in the instruction. Am I missing something?
20.02.2023 kl. 20:56:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Hunt, correct, that's how you work the GARTER ST PATTERN, ie *P3 rounds, K 3 rounds* and repeat from *-*. Happy knitting!
