I don't understand the instructions after "When piece measures 6cm cast off sleeve cap each side..." until the seaming. Please clarify. Thanks.

Hi Ria, The sleeves are worked separately, bottom up and the number of cast-on stitches includes 1 edge stitch on each side. The edge stitch can be knitted on all rows (garter stitch) or stocking stitch if you prefer. The sleeve cap is shaped by casting off the number of stitches given in the text on each side, i.e., first 4 sts on each side (beginning of each row), then 2 sts 3 times on each side, etc. Hope this helps and happy knitting!,

Dear Ria, M.1 and M.2 refer to the diagram you will find at the bottom of the pattern page, under the measurement chart. Read more about diagrams here. Happy knitting!

Dear Mrs Oz, at the beginning of row 2, crochet 1 slip stitch in each of the first chain stitches on first 4-ch-space at the beg of previous round, so that the 2nd round will now start in the middle of the chain-space, and now work 1 sc in this first chain-space. Happy crocheting!

Dear Mrs Oz, you will now sew together the shoulder on front piece with the shoulder on back piece using this technique and then after seams are done, work the crochet edge around the neck. Happy assembly!

Dear Mrs Oz, sure you work now back piece in rows, not in round anymore (just as for left front piece). You cast off 1 stitch at the beginning of the first 2 rows on back piece, then continue in stocking stitch until piece measures 83 cm, then work these 4 rows. Happy knitting!

03.12.2020 kl. 02:53:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, working 4 rows with the middle 35 sts in garter stitch, means knitting all stitches from RS as before, but from WS work as follows: P17 sts, Knit 35 sts, P17 sts. After you have 2 ridges over the middle 35 sts, cast off the middle 29 sts and finish each shoulder separately in stocking stitch with 3 sts in garter stitch towards neck. Happy knitting!

26.11.2020 kl. 12:44:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, the left front piece is the one on your left when you are wearing the dress. From WS you will start with the 3 sts in garter stitch, then M.2 and stocking stitch. You will decrease for neck from RS when 14 sts remain: decrease 1 stitch and work the last 12 sts with 9 sts in M.2 and 3 sts in garter stitch. Happy knitting!

Dear Mrs Oz, decreases for neck are worked only from RS - see DECREASE-TIP-2 - first on every other row (= every row from RS) a total of 9 times then on every 4th row (= every other row from RS) a total of 5 times (in XS). Happy knitting!

Dear Mrs Oz, correct you will now work back and forth over the 35 sts - if you worked previously row 7 and should now work row 8, you should work first row from WS - the sts inM.2 will be purled - as well as the stitches in stocking stitch and the 3 sts towards neck are knitted (= garter st). 23.11.2020 kl. 21:45:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, you should now work left front piece, if your strand is not on the right place, just cut it and join it again to work left front piece = there should be 35 sts for the left front piece and these sts are worked: 23 sts in stocking stitch (you will decrease 1 of these sts for armhole), you will decrease for neck at the end of the stocking stitch section before the last 12 sts, 9 sts in M.2 and 3 sts in garter st. 23.11.2020 kl. 14:08:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, when working left front piece (when dress is worn), seen from RS you work: stocking stitch over the first sts (you will cast off 1 stitch at the beg of the first row from RS for armhole - then cast off for armhole is done in XS) until 14 sts remain, decrease 1 stitch for neck and work the next 9 sts in M.2 as before and end with 3 sts in garter stitch. Dear Mrs Oz, yes cut the yarn and join on the left front piece, making sure the lace pattern will be always worked from RS. You now decrease 1 stitch inside 12 sts (see DECREASE-TIP-2) for the neck and at the same time cast off for armhole at the beg of row from armhole. Happy knitting!

Dear Mrs Oz, are you talking about the increases on the sides? You work them like this: *work 1 round as before increasing 1 stitch on each side of both markers (4 inc per round), with M.2 as before over the middle stitches (continue M.2 as before always repeating now row 7 to 22), work 3 rounds without increasing with stocking stitch and M.2 as before*, work from *-* a total of 6 times, then work one more increase round = there are now 156 sts, still M.2 over the middle stitches and stocking stitch on remaining sts. Dear Mrs Oz, yes there were 19 sts stocking st after beg of round and before M.2 but then you increased 7 sts (1 st on each side of each marker a total of 7 times = 156 sts in total), so that there are 19+7= 26 sts in stocking st - 3 sts cast off at the beg of the round = 23 sts in stocking st + 9 sts M.2 + 3 sts garter st (neck edge). 06.11.2020 kl. 05:36:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, you just have to work the row of diagram coming after the previous one you worked - you now repeat row 7 to 22, if you worked row 22 on previous row, then start again from row 7. Correct in first size, you just cast off 1 stitch at the beg of first row from the armhole. Seen from RS (left front piece = from the armhle towards neck)) work: stocking stitch, 9 sts in M.2, 3 sts in garter stitch. Decrease for neck before the 12 last stitches (= M.2 + 3 sts in garter st), seen from RS. Happy knitting!

Dear Mrs Oz, this might give the same, you can either start the bind off row with the last 3 sts of the round to bind off 3 sts before marker + 1 st with marker + 3 sts after marker (= beg of next round) or cast off the sts from beg of the round and end with casting off the last stitches of the round, then cut the yarn and join it back for left front piece. Dear Mrs Oz, after you have bind off the middle stitch for neck you should have on each side of this bind off stitch: A.2, 3 sts in garter st, 1 st bind off, 3 sts in garter st, A.2 - for the armhole start 3 sts before the stitch with a marker and cast off the next 7 stitches (= 3 sts before marker + 1 st with marker + 3 sts after marker). Dear Mrs Oz, well this depends on the round worked in M.2, if you finished a whole repeat of M.2 when piece measures 67 cm then work first round in M.2 over the stitches on each side and the middle 7 sts in garter stitch, otherwise, you just have to work next row in M.2 over the sts on each side (= continue M.2) and the 7 middle sts in garter stitch. Dear Mrs Oz, on next row (= 8th row in diagram), you continue working the other stitches in stocking stitch as before and row 8th row in diagram over the 25 sts, then work row 9 in M.2 and always stockinette over remaining sts. ie only the 25 sts will be worked as shown in the diagram, all other will be worked in stockinette. Dear Mrs Oz, I'm not sure what you mean with the 12 sts before the beg of the round - the beg of the round is on the side of the dress from the begining of the pattern, this means if you put the work flat, you should have the working ball on the side and the 3rd marker + 6th marker (in M.1) on each side of piece. M.2 will be now worked over the middle 25 sts on mid front - try to adjust your number of sts so that M.2 will be centered (with the previous 3rd and 6th markers on each side of piece). Dear Mrs Oz, after the 22 rows of M.2 start next round (as before = on the side) and work from the side (as before): 19 sts stocking st, 25 sts in M.2, and continue in stocking st to the end of the round as before. But your rounds are starting from the side, as from the beginning of the dress. Happy knitting!

And when I finish round of 128 sts, do I start where I left off from starting at row 7?
05.10.2020 kl. 16:14:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz,then you work: M.2 from the arrow to the end = 12 sts), then repeat the 16 sts in M.2 from the beg (from the right towards the left) a total of 7 times in width (= over the next 112 sts) and finish with the first 4 sts in diagram (the 4 sts before first arrow) = 12 + 16*7 + 4= 128 sts. After the 22 rows work: 19 sts in stocking stitch, the next 25 sts in M.2 as before but from row 7 and the remaining sts in stocking st = 19 + 25 + 84 = 128 sts. Hope this helps :)

05.10.2020 kl. 13:29:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, it will look somewhat different as in the foto without the first pattern all the round, but then you work M.2 only on mid front: 19 sts stocking st, 25 sts in M.2 (= whole diagram one time in width (= 16 sts) then work the first 9 sts in diagram = 25 sts) and work rest of front piece + back piece in stocking st. The lace pattern M.2 will be only worked over the middle 25 sts on front piece.Happy knitting!

I also still don’t understand next section where it states 19 stockinette. Do I start from row 7 (5th stitch for xs) and go for 25 sts then finish in stockinette for round, then go back to where I left off starting from row 7?
03.10.2020 kl. 04:52:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, I'm sorry I'm not sure anymore which part of the pattern you have worked and where you are stuck. Did you already work the 22 rows of M.2 in height over all stitches? If this is done, you now continue working M.2 over the middle 25 sts on front piece only (when working these M.2 start now diag. on row 7 and repeat row 7 to 22 over previous M.2); Work remaining stitches in stockinette. Hope this helps. Happy kniting!

Dear Mr Oz, correct, you have worked the lace pattern around the dress and now you work the lace pattern on mid front = you start now from the side with 19 sts stocking st until you will divide piece. Happy knitting!

And am I repeating round starting with stockinette and M2 (from row 7) 4x7 times, increasing on each side on round 4?
01.10.2020 kl. 17:53:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, M.2 is now worked only over the middle 25 sts on mid front, starting on row 7 in M.2 repeat rows 7 to the end of diagram then repeat from row 7 again as long as you have to work M.2. At the same time, work all other sts in stocking stitch (back piece and sides) and increase on the sides starting on 4th round (= row 10 in M.2 when you start again from row 7 the first time).Happy knitting!

01.10.2020 kl. 04:59:DROPS Design answered:
Hi Esther, As you are working in the round, each row in the diagram is read from right to left (starting at the bottom). Happy knitting!

30.09.2020 kl. 23:22:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, yes right, when working M.2 the first time in height, the rounds will all start with the same stitch = the one with the arrow for your size. Happy knitting!

Dear Mrs Oz, you have to work diagram M.2 one time in height (= 22 rows), then work next round as explained: 19 sts stocking st, work row 7 in M.2 over the next 25 sts and work stocking st to the end of the round. 30.09.2020 kl. 14:52:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Oz, work first one whole repeat in A.2 in height (= the 22 rows) then work the lace pattern as explained: 19 sts in stocking st, then repeat M.2 from row 7 to 22 over the next 25 sts, and work stocking sts over remaining sts on round - on 4th of these rounds you will start increasing on the sides. Hi Esther, Yes you first purl a complete round, then knit and finally purl another complete round. As regards M.1, all the open squares represent knitted stitches and the diagram is worked from bottom right to left and upwards. So you have 4 knitted rounds, then round 5 is K4 , P1 (when working from the right side), K5, P1, K5, P1 to end of round, then 5 knitted rounds again. I hope this helps and happy knitting!

Hi Carol, After working stocking stitch for 47 cm, you start M2 (lace pattern) the next round is worked from the right in the diagram. The first square on the right of the diagram (first stitch on next round) is marked with an arrow for your size and you start with 1 YO, slip a stitch as if to K, K1 and psso. Then K3 and K2 tog, 1 YO. Continue according to the diagram for the complete round. K the next round which allows the lace pattern holes you are wanting. Carry on with M2 as instructed in the text.
