Clue #2 - Let's grow our shawl some more

Let’s keep our shawl growing! As usual, you will find videos to assist you at the end of the clue. But if you still have questions, you can always leave them using the form at the bottom of the page!

Brief version

We will work from row 5 to row 8 in this clue.

When the diagram has been worked in height, row has 17 chain stitch spaces. The piece measures approx. 4” between the first chain stitch ring and the midmost chain stitch space on row 8.

= 1 single crochet around chain stitch space
= 1 treble crochet around chain stitch space
= Increase 1 chain stitch space around this chain stitch space by working 2 chain stitch spaces as shown in diagram

Here’s a more detailed description of how to start with Clue #2.

ROW 1:
Work according to diagram A.2a as follows: 7 chain stitches, 1 double crochet around 1st chain stitch space, 6 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around next chain stitch space, 6 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around next chain stitch space, 6 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around the same chain stitch space – marked with a small circle.

Then work according to diagram A.2b as follows: 6 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around next chain stitch space, 6 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around next chain stitch space, 6 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around next chain stitch space, 6 chain stitches.

Now work according to diagram A.2c as follows: 1 single crochet around next chain stitch space, 6 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around the same chain stitch space, 6 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around next chain stitch space, 6 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around next chain stitch space, 3 chain stitches and 1 treble crochet around the last chain stitch space, turn work.


ROW 2: Work according to diagram A.2c, A.2b and A.2a.


ROW 3: Work according to diagram A.2a, A.2b and A.2c.


ROW 4: Work according to diagram A.2c, A.2b and A.2a.

The separation of the chart into 3 sections is making me crazy! Is there a reason for it? It is so very distracting in trying to keep track of the right loops to put the double loop into!

Dear Mrs Kachurowski, diagram is drawn in 3 parts to show you how to start the rows, how to crochet in the middle of row and how to crochet the end of rows. Follow the pictures step by step reading the text and row in red. Happy crocheting!

Hola Maria. No hacemos proyectos personalizados. Este CAL, como los otros, se trabaja por pistas. Al terminar el chal puedes ver como queda la labor y qué cambios en el patrón necesitas hacer para trabajar una manta.
